Data codes can be displayed by using a scan tool connected to to the data link connector located under the dash in the area of the steering wheel. It is a 16 pin connector.. This covers all isuzu vehicles from 1996 to 2007

Is there a manual way without a scan tool for that model?

not answers are usa answers, chris, why not tell country. nice we have a hear, but OBD2 invented USA, was not use in other countries until 2006, and diesels not at all , or later. so..... we have like 1million post now here, with only 1 stating country and 500,000 wrong answers, join the club of 1 and make it 2, and knock our socks, this fixha is California, site, no wizards here, hint? what 4Bxx engine do you have, there are 9 4Bxx engines. even direct injecion EFI, did you ask the Isuzu dealer for the shop manual on your diesel, that be best. huh>? what size, 2.8. 2.3.,3.6, 3.9 or 4.3L,? open hood find chassis tag (vin) and it states exact engine, and market and any isuzu dealer armed with that fact, can get you books, jumper wires are mostly OBD1 tech. and many diesels have non, or a custom scan tool or other very unique ways to see errors. nect time post county and real engine name,

The 4JB1 is a 2.8 L (2,771 cc) 93 mm bore, 102 mm stroke direct injection diesel engine. It was used in the Isuzu Bighorn (Trooper), Mu (Rodeo), Wizard (LWB Rodeo), Rodeo Pickup and Holden Jackaroo sold in most world markets aside from North America until the early 1990s. Stock power was 87 PS (64 kW) in the 1989 Isuzu Trooper.[7] Industrial versions of this motor were also sold in Isuzu light trucks.

Information came from autodata fault code publication. If it is possible to use the engine fault light to read codes then that information will be available from the relevant workshop manual.

Cheers , im in nz. Its a 4jx1 turbo diesel in a 2000 isuzu wizard. A Dd 3L dohc. I know you can't get every vehicle to flash fault codes by bridging terminals. Just seeing if anyone knows if this is one of them you can.
    Cheers chris

NZ, well , NZ cars can have obd1 up to 2006, and on diesels non at all and they use different diesels (efi) in different countries, so why not get the book that matches your car, this is a USA site,(calif) and all posts will lie to you, see why> we use OBD2 here. on all cars 1996+ gas. but not deisel till later. and is unique to our country and laws. walk to Isuzu, dealer parts counter and get the book for YOUR NZ engine., in the usa we have like 5 major online FSM books, to view and not ONE FOR NZ,

run the fault codes
one indication is that the EVAP system is not venting the diesel tank and there is a vacuum problem not allowing the fuel to the pump

I have a 1991 Isuzu rodeo was running fine changed the water pump an now engine cranks but won't start... Didn't mess with any wires gets fuel... Replaced the coil

which engine you have. of the 6gas and 1 diesel..

lost spark , did you check for spark on all cylinders.
i the distributor base clamp loose?

if no spark the next step is to :
check fuses. did you check fuses first. when and engine dont run.
my guess is you did service with battery connected.
then do the flash codes, cranking for 5 seconds.

ever do the flash test?
code 12 or 31, , bingo... lost ignition refr, sigs.

the magic jumper rules follow.
flash codes.

  1. The diagnostic trouble codes can be read as follows:
    • On models with the 12 cavity ALDL, ground test terminal B. The terminal is most easily grounded by connecting it to terminal A (internal ECM ground). This is the terminal to the right of terminal B on the top row of the ALDL connector.
    • On models with a 3 cavity DLC, connect the two outside terminals (terminals 1 and 2) together.
    • Other models are equipped with white and black diagnostic terminals located under the instrument panel next to the left pick panel. Connect them together.

25921565-1bpyn3nuelgxbscvnebdpyhp-3-0.jpg more of the OBD1 arcane bs is here.,
http://www.troublecodes.net/isuzu/

key fact. let the ECU tell you why spark is dead, FIRST.
after fuses tested
is the cluster CEL lamp glowing key on, (OOPS< if not) ask.

Instructions to get fault codes from a isuzu wizard. What wires to bridge cheers

what year car,. 1989?
model is this a wizard model?
what country, you do know the PCM vary by year, country and engine
right?
see this page
see the vast confusing on what car?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isuzu_MU

shocking this my be, but is reality, and fixya is a calif,. forum.
so not stating country, most here might think its a usa car, and is not.
ours is a 1989 under the Isuzu Amigo name

the questions are :
is it obd1, obd2, eobd or jobd, ECU comms.
if old like 1980 it has DLC. (to jump)
the DLC pins vary by, country and engine and year.
and by smog laws world wide.

Hi I HAVE A ISUZU WIZZARD 3.0 WITH 4jx1 engine,it hard to started, diesel knock when it idle, engine light stay on with a code p10193 or p1393,already replace fuel filter, engine oil, train and renew a diesel...

Hi, you problem is the rail oil pressure sensor having a high voltage input -  P0193 code set . This will also cause your faults .
Change the sensor which is under the cam cover and the smaller of the two there and it will run ok .
You need the sensor set up on a tech II after fitting to run at its best.

My 2000 Isuzu Trooper needs a catalytic converter.

yes they have 2 cataletic convertors, one each bank
there is EGR codes, but only front O2 sensor codes and fuel trim codes no CAT codes
what were the scanner codes or flash codes i can work with both for helpful info
you can read codes by bridging pins 5 & 6 with ignition in on position engine not running
