Re: when i lock my 2006 chevy aveo with the remote button...
You need to look up the programming codes for the remote. You can set it to where the doors lock but alarm does not activate. I am sure you can find it easily through Google.

If the door locks on your 2004 Chevy Aveo are continuously locking and unlocking even when the car is off or on, it could be due to a few different reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
Check the battery: One possible cause of this issue is a weak or dying battery. If the battery is not providing enough power to the electrical system, it can cause the door locks to malfunction. Have the battery tested to ensure it is in good condition.
Check the door lock switch: The door lock switch may be stuck or malfunctioning, causing the locks to continuously activate. Try disconnecting the switch to see if the issue persists. If it stops, replace the switch.
Check the wiring: It's possible that there is a wiring issue that is causing the locks to malfunction. Inspect the wiring harness for any signs of damage or corrosion, and repair or replace any damaged wiring.
Check the door lock actuator: The door lock actuator may be malfunctioning, causing the locks to activate continuously. Test the actuator to see if it is functioning properly, and replace it if necessary.
Check the remote: If you have a remote for the door locks, it may be malfunctioning or sending signals unintentionally. Try removing the battery from the remote and see if the issue persists. If it stops, replace the remote.
If you are unsure about any of these steps, or if the issue persists after attempting to troubleshoot, it's best to take your car to a qualified mechanic for diagnosis and repairs.
these buttons use a carbon sensor to make contact to function. You eill see a coin slot on the side of the remote to open it, then very gently with a fingernail file, clean to surface of both contacts and reassemble, This should solve the problem if it is the remote. do not scub hard or you will remove the contacts. If this does not solve the problem, check the fuses.
easy there is a fuse box behund driver door next to steering wheel that doesn't say alarm. it's on left side in middle. it burns out alot. replace it with a stronger fuse. I would replace all fuses. took me three years. Almost paid 300 to put a new one in. [email protected]
if its a clicking sound it just might be your cv joint... dont be alarmed if it is.. i takes a very longtime to actually break it. its just worn down. i've been drivingaround on mine for about 9 or 10 thousand miles and it has not locked up yet
i had the same problem with alarm system in 2005 hatchback (5 door), the dealer was no help, found by accident to spray lube oil in rear door handle as it was rusted inside and not releasing properly, thus setting off the alarm, i oiled it several times and the alarm system works fine now.
this happened to me and it drove me crazy for a few days. check that the hood is closed tightly. its held shut for the most part by a peice of metal with a screw on one side, a spring around it, and a nub looking shape that fits into the locking device above the bumper. When i finally checked my hood, the entire bit of metal had come unscrewed and was stuck in the locking device, leaving my hood held shut only by the safety clamp. remove it from the locking part and screw it back into the hood, closing it a few times to find the right distance to screw it in. lock your car and hear that chirp, that should fix it
if thats not the case then check that all of the doors are closed nice and tight... if the doors lock but the audible alarm is not armed then that is most likely the case
