Low oil pressure? It's not your pump. It the crankshaft bearings. I have never replaced an oil pump for low pressure. Always the bearings. I have replaced them because I did the rebuild or someone just wanted a high pressure pump. Don't waste your time on just a pump, only to have the same results. If you really like the car and it is worth it to you. Build the engine...It is 30 years old.

Sounds like one of the injectors may be weeping. Also check for a bad fuel pressure regulator. Do not run with fuel in the oil, damage to crankshaft bearings and rod bearings will occur. A hydro-lock and explosion hazard also exist . When working on fuel components have a fire extinguisher available.

Not entirely sure what you're trying to ask, so I'll take a shot in the dark. maybe you're asking - "what model years was the BMW 316i produced?"

If so, it was produced 1990-1993 (with a 99hp engine) and from
1994-1998 (with a 101hp engine). More here:

I''ve just changed the oil inmy 98' 316i, but now when you press the pedal there is no throttle and the rpms start dropping to around 200rpms and sounds like it's tumbling. Why is that?

you have disconnected something during the oil change retrace yourself. or you just lost an oil pump.

You have a bad head gasket. You are leaking coolant into the engine block through the cylinders. This is why you have white smoke, and the extra coolant that doesnt get burned off is going into your oil.

check if the water is circulating as you might have a blockage in the header tank. this can be checked by opening the radiator cap and check if the water is circulating on top.
