I have a 2004 chevy malibue. When i put the key in the outside door the door will unlock all the doors. However if i try to lock the doors only the driver side will lock. The power locks in the inside wont work at all and i have already replaced the buttons. In addition when the car starts, the doors all lock themselves.

Check your owners manual (first) the go to the door itself and look at the under side of the door and you will see a sticker guide to the operation of the safety locks . It's usually a slight turn (90*) on a simple mechanism within the door lock assy .It's always a good idea to lock the traffic side door with children on board. GOOD LUCK

Close all the vehicle doors. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder. Press and hold the DOOR unlock switch. While holding the DOOR lock switch in the unlock position, cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF. Release the DOOR unlock switch. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the program mode. Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one keyless remote.
