First, replace the radiator or expansion tank cap.
Also excessive steam and the smell of burnt anti-freeze are a sign of a blown head gasket, as is water in the crank case.

My 3l v6 colt rodeo blows out white smoke if I drive it to 4500 revs

I don't like to be the guy who says this, but you may have a blown head gasket, or at the very least a blown intake manifold gasket. Start by checking your oil for antifreeze, then check your antifreeze for oil. If you have a mixture of either one DO NOT run your engine, if the antifreeze mixes enough into your oil, it will damage your bearings on the crankshaft and you'll be looking at a complete rebuild of the engine. Go to the parts store and buy yourself a leak down test kit, it's about $50 and it will tell you if you have hydrocarbons mixing with your antifreeze, if the leak down test liquid turns colors like yellow, then your head gasket is blown for sure.

The 2000 Ford Windstar that I have is using water. I fill it up with 2 containers of antifreeze and the next evening it needs some more added. I do not see any visible leaks in the driveway or when it is...

Engine coolant that is disappearing and leaving no visible trace is NOT a good thing. You most likely have a blown head gasket or a cracked cylinder head. (engine coolant going out the exhaust) Also check your oil to make sure the water is not getting into your crankcase. If it is, the oil will be over-full and will look like a chocolate milk-shake.

My toyota 4runner is overheating but i have no water leak and yet my radiator is losing water

SOUND LIKE HEAD GASKET LEAK.CHECK ENGINE OIL FOR SIGNS ANTIFREEZE CONTAMINATION..OIL WILL LOOK LIKE MILK SHAKE.IF USING WATER IT EVAPORATES AT 212 DEGREES. ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE CAN CLIMB UP TO 220 DEGREES.IF OIL IN CRANK CASE LOOKS GOOD.ADD 50/50 WATER AND ANTIFREEZE. ANTIFREEZE WILL RAISE BOILING POINT TO KEEP COOLANT FROM EVAPORATING.SEE IF YOU LOSING WATER ITS BOILING AWAY LIKE WATER IN A TEA KETTLE.

Leaking antifreeze

Where is it leaking? If you see no apparent leak but are loosing coolant then you more than likely have a blown head gasket. Other symptoms are white smoke from the exhaust, overfull oil level, a white foamy substance on the underside of the oil fill cap. If you have a blown head gasket, STOP, driving the car now or you will ruin the engine.

My van is leaking antifreeze for the botton of the car isee it dripping off the transmission pan it is over heating and i loosing a lot of antifreeze

you may have blown a manifold gasket. check oil and see if it is milky looking. Does oil pressure light come on? If so the gasket is blown. I had a leak once and it was ths gasket, but none was leaking into oil, just out onto the engine near the intake manifold. You may also have a corroded freeze plug. If you live up north and get a lot of snow and road salt, this could really be the issue. They are not easy to change on front wheel drive engines. Sorry. Have a great 4th of July.

1) Loosing antifreeze 2) tranny shifts funny

if your exhaust is loose it causes car to run hotter, also if you are running the wrong gas in it, so check on that.HOWEVER your thermostat and water pump are the main suspects here. If you are losing antifreeze, it may be a blown head gasket which is No good, this is caused by your 2 main suspects here. Check oil and tranny fluid levels. you cant keep driving a car thats having problems, .. thats how you get bigger problems like blown head gaskets. TRUST ME. as a teen i owned 3 differnt cars, and had to chang head gasket on every one of them because of POOR MAINTENACE. check these things, and get back to me

Where is my antifreeze going?

Sounds like a busted head gasket or a cracked head and the coolent is getting into the fire chambars and being excreeted through exhaust.. These systems can be tested at a shop..

Have a great day
