I have a 1997 nissan maxima and when its cold outside it won't start it won't do anything. its like there is a problem with the ignition after the sun shines on the car an warms up outside...

Try to clean all cables to battery and starter. A bit of oxidation may be causing the problem, or your battery has a bad cell and is about to go. Especially if the battery is over 5 years old.

No that would not affect temperature in any significant way. the engine in most cases just won't run or will be hard starting.

I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima GLE, engine was replaced with a 1998 SE engine. Since then, I have been having problems starting. I get a boost and once I move the car and park it, it won't start again....

there is a problem with your iginition timing. it is most probably overly advanced. have an experienced mechanic check your ignition timing. the mechanic should check the distributor, camshaft, and crankshaft timings.
