I just went through this same issue and it turned out to be the engine cooling sensor, a $50 part.

there are 2 things id check first. the coolant temp sensor. and then the map sensor. good luck

I BELIEVE THAT THE MEMORY IN THE CAR'S COMPUTER IS LOST. IF YOU CAN GET IT TO THE DEALER OR A CERTIFIED GM SHOP THEY WILL HAVE TO "FLASH THE DRIVE" ON THE P.C.M.(POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE). I HOPE THIS HELPS. LET ME KNOW PLEASE.THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK

This does happen a lot if the spark plugs are worn out or the type of plug altogether is wrong. The plug might be struggling to keep sparking if it is worn out or the elctrode gap it too wide on the spark plug. Have a look at the car manual to learn more about the spark plug but also Have a look at the ones already in the car and see if they are the right ones recommended in the manual and also check if they look worn out.
