I believe you should pop the trunk and look where the light would be on the outside and pull the carpeting off.
well first unscrew the screws holding the carpet down then look in there.
pull out the headlight assembly and take out bulb and put new one in

How do I replace tthe bulb for the brake light on a 2005 nissan maxima?

First check the car manual.
I have done this repair myself. First pull back the trunck liner on the taillight needing repair. You will see two long bolts with nuts holding the taillightin place. Using a socket wrinch loosen the nuts completely. Fom the outside the taillight should be loose. grab the edge of the taillight and pull directly backward. Once out, you will see the individual bulb sockets. Replace the bad bulb. Test the lights, then reassemble.

Replace rear tail light bulb on a 2005 nissan maxima

Open the trunk, from the inside remove the side trunk liner (by removing the plastic tabs the liner can be pulled back). Once the liner is pulled back you will need to remove two nuts which secure the tail light in place. Once the two nuts are removed you can start pulling the whole tail light assembly out. There are two other tabs that secure the tail light in place which may give you some resistance but the light should come out without too much force once the two nuts are removed.
Once the tail light is out you can change whatever bulbs you need to.

2005 Nissan Maxima SE Fog light replacement

jorgeva: on the driver's side to gain access, you must remove the air cleaner assembly. At that point, you can see the back of the light which has a plastic cap. Rotate this "counter clockwise" and you can pull it back from the back of the lamp housing. From there you will see how the bulb it self is plugged in, which is obvious. Unplug it. There is a "spring "like latch retainer to hold the bulb in place. Unlatch it, remove the bulb and install the new bulb.
CAUTION!!!!!!! DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS AREA OF THE NEW BULB! Only handle the rear section. Reassemble in the reverse order.
The right side will require the removal of the windshield washer tank.
I trust this will have answered your question. If you would, let me or FIXYA know if I have solved your problem......
