Use a compass to draw a circle the size you want your star to be.
Draw a second, smaller circle inside the first, using the same center point. Make the second circle about half the size of the first.
Draw a line from the edge of the outer circle to the center point using a ruler.
Place a protractor on the line, with the center hole of the protractor over the center point of the circle.
Measure and mark every 72 degrees around the circle (72, 144, 216, 288 and 360 degrees), dividing the circle into five even sections.
Line the ruler up with the center point of the circle and one of the marks you just made.
Draw a line from the edge of the outer circle, through the center point, ending at the edge of the inner circle.
Continue drawing lines as described until you have drawn the five lines, which evenly divide the circle.
Connect the top of one of the lines that touches the outer circle to the lines that touch the inner circle on both sides, forming a point.
Continue to connect the lines around the circle until you have made a five-point star.

  • Make the inner circle larger for a fatter star or smaller for a thinner star.
  • Draw your star on poster board and cut it out to use as a pattern for drawing more.
  • To make a six-point star, measure and mark every 60 degrees (60, 120, 180, 240, 300, and 360 degrees), dividing the circle into six even sections.
  • To make an eight-point star, measure and mark every 45 degrees (45, 90, 135, 180, 225, 270, 315, and 360 degrees), dividing the circle into eight even sections.
  • Quick and easy may want to do this a few times before the final perfect one. This actually made me think. Haven't done geometry in a very long time.

How to fit timing belt for ford fiesta 1.4 ?

1.4 petrol ,now be carefull here as if you try to undo the front pulley then bang goes ther engine ,its on a taper with no keyway .What you need is a special tool that locks the flywheel by means of teeth that go in where the startermotor is .Now what i do as iam not buying tools for every make and model of vehicle i work on is to drill a 8.5 mm hole in line with the ring gear ,then tap this to 10mm ,then screw a bolt with a nut on the bolt into this hole ,the bolt has a point ground onto the end ,then when this engages the flywheel ringear i screw the nut up to touch the bell housing and just pinch it .then and only then can you undo the front pulley bolt .Look in a haynes manual for the timing marks and then align them up and then screw the bolt in to lock the crank as described or some white paint on the cam gear to mark it in situ because as the cranks locked up it cannot move so the only gear that needs timing is the cam ,spot of white paint on gear and housing facing is goiod enough .

How to set ignition timing

Hi Eric, Vehicles fitted with distributors using points (contact breakers) and condensers, which I believe is the case with your vehicle use a dwell angle setting. Initial setting is carried out with a feeler gauge. After replacing points and condenser, turn the engine until the rubbing block on the points is at the highest point against the distributor cam (at the centre of the distributor). Set the gap at 16 thousands of an inch or 0.45 mm. Inspect the front crankshaft fan belt pulley to identify the timing marks. Paint a white mark onto the pointer (fixed to the timing cover) and rotate the engine by hand until you see the timing scale on the crankshaft pulley. mark with white paint at 10 degrees BTDC and align the pulley to the pointer and set the points in the distributor (by releasing the locking bolt of the distributor body) to be at the exact point when it begins to open. Replace the cap and connect a stroboscopic timing light, start the engine and let it idle at normal idle speed and reset the ignition timing to the same marks painted with white paint. Don't forget to take all safety requirements seriously as you will be working on a running engine. Regards John

I need a crdi valve timing

easy ,drill bell housing and tap hole to 10mm in line with the ring gear ,then grind a point on a bolt and screw it into the hole to lock the flywheel ,then bit of white of paint on the gears and away you go .Check the bottom pulley keyway on this engine on older models as the keyway wears out requiring a new crankshaft.

I need help to set the timing on 1999 ford expedition 5.4l.

If it's valve timing you are referring to, follow these steps.

Orient the crank sprocket with the mark at the six o'clock position. Fold both chains in half, with the two copper links on one end, and the single copper link on the other end. (If there are no marks visible, you can make your own using paint, or other suitable marker that won't rub off)

Install the timing chain guides. Begin by setting up passenger side bank cam, with the single copper link lined up with the mark on the crank sprocket at the six o'clock position, on the INNER gear (the one closest to the engine). While holding the cam with vise grips, route the chain with the two copper links lining it up to the mark on the cam sprocket (sprocket should be at around the 11 o'clock position). Install the right side timing chain tensioner, and torque to two 10mm bolts to spec.

Repeat above outlined procedure for the driver side bank cam (sprocket on this bank should be at around the one o'clock position).

Remove the locking fluid (paint) from threaded holes of the screws (A). Loosen the two screws (A) slightly, then pull the ignition/starter switch out from steering lock housing in direction of the arrow

To install:
  1. Push the ignition/starter switch into steering lock housing.

NOTE When installing the ignition/starter lock switch ensure that the ignition/starter lock switch and the lock cylinder are in the same position, e.g. "ignition on".

  2. Tighten screws and seal securing holes with sealant D2.
  3. Connect multi-pin connector to ignition/starter switch.
  4. Install steering column switches, steering wheel trim and steering wheel, as outlined in this section.

I need to know the color code of my 2000 ford f150 radio

Look in the driver's side door jamb. There should me a sticker with the details of your truck.

At the bottom you'll see EXT PNT:

Mine says EXT PNT: SU

I believe SU is the the color code. You can probably order the paint from the dealer, or any good paint supplier can get you the equivalent.

Remember that paint can fade and change color over time, so if you're not a pro painter, blending the bright, new color will be very hard to do; you might as well just paint the entire panel or the whole truck if you're not already going to.
