Check the cigarette lighter fuse. According to some sources the clock and the cigarette lighter are on the same circuit even though the manual doesn't say this.

There isn't a fuse. Clocks are very low voltage and ampere draw. Access the plug. Pull it and replace it(corrosion). If it starts working agian, you are good to go. Otherwise replace the clock module.

SOURCE: how to change lexus es300 2002 cabin air filter

I just changed the cabin filter of my ES300. I found the instructions on the manual, under airconditioning and audio. It's pretty easy to do. I bought the filter from Kragen's for $21.95.

SOURCE: Radio removal 200 Lexus ES300

First you need to remove th wooden bezel surrounding the shifter. Do this by gently prying up the bottom part of the wood closest to the cup holders in the armrest using a small screwdriver. Then work out te top part gently. Rotate/angle the wood bezel to get it over the shifter. It will slide past, just work it around the button. Once this is removed then you need to remove the ashtray below the climate control. Now that the shifter bezel has been removed locate the 2 screws securing the bottom of the ashtray housing and remove them. The ashtray then will only be held in be retaining clips at the top. Once the screws are removed you'll want to have the ashtray open to get better leverage on it to pull. Gently slide the ashtray out. Be careful not to pull to hard on the actual tray of the ashtray. there is a plastic tab in the back of the ashtray that can't be seen that prevents it from coming out all the way that can easily be broken. If you do break it the ashtray is still secured to the swing mechanism by 2 screws in the bottom of the tray that will still allow it to be functional and secure, so don't worry. After the ashtray is removed the next step is to remove the small trim piece directly underneath the climate controls. On 2000 and 2001 models this will be made of wood. 97-99 models it will be black plastic. Using a small flathead screwdriver gently pry the strip of wood or plastic out. Starting in the middle of the strip is best, the retaining clips are on the right and left of the strip. It should pop out fairly easily. This will expose the screws holding in the bottom of the climate control which will need to be removed. Once the climate controls are removed the bottom radio screws should be visible. Next for the screws retaining the top of the radio you'll need to remove the clock/airvents located above the radio. Remove this with a small flathead screwdriver using the pop out method. Once removed this will expose the screws retaining the top fo the radio. Remove these screws and the screws at the bottom and the radio should slide out. Again, this will work on all models from 97-2001.

Are you sure this is a rattle or is it more of a creaking noise? I have a 2000 ES300 and had an issue when I would go over speed bumps and the noise would drive me nuts! However replacing the bushing in the top of the strut mount is expensive due to the labor involved.. Replacement of the strut or the bushing isn't necessary. Just open the hood, locate the strut housing and you ll be able to see the black rubber bushing in the middle. Obtain a can of Heavy Duty silicone aerosol spray and attach a straw to the spray tip. Using a flathead screwdriver wedge the screwdriver between the top of the bushing and the metal pushing the screwdriver all the way to the edge of the metal underneath the roof of the metal housing. Then pry the edge of the bushing away from the metal housing so that the top of the edge of the bushing exposed and stick the straw end of the silicone into the spot and spray generously. Only slight bushing movement will be obtained as the bushing is pretty stiff but it will be enough. Work your way around using this technique until you get the spray fully around the bushing 360 degrees getting it into the area between the edge of the bushing and the metal. Then spray the silicone onto the top of the bushing filling it all the way up until it spills over the metal. After it drains down, repeat again making sure you fill it above the rim of the bushing so it seeps into the area between the bushing and he metal housing (or frame) because this is where the rubbing is taking place that is creating that awful noise. Repeat on the other side and your done. The main goal is to get the silicone into the area between the metal and the bushing along the edge. This happens to be the way I was able to do it. This totally solved my problem and now the car is so quiet there aren't any knocking, creaking or rattling noises. This was a hard solution to explain without visuals, hope you can follow. This will work for sure. The Heavy Duty Silicone spray I used was manufactured by CRC and I bought it from Walmart.

My Son has a 95 es300, the amp for it is located under the front passenger seat. The easiest way to access it is to remove the 4 bolts holding the seat down, and remove the seat. Takes about 5 minutes

How to replace alternator fuse on 2000 lexus es300

In most car models I have had to remove the fuse box retaining bolts and lift the fuse box up and go under the fuse and remove 2 small bolts that retain the heavy alternator fuse in place, it is the only fuse that is bolted in to the box from under the box. Always disconnect the battery negative cable before you start work.
