Compass Calibration
The compass direction will show CAL if it needs to be calibrated. Before calibrating the compass, drive the vehicle to an area that is magnetically clean (free of large metallic objects).

1. Turn ON the ignition.
2. Before calibrating the compass, make sure the compass is set to the variance zone in which the vehicle is travelling. See Compass Magnetic Variation Adjustment below.
3. Press the vehicle information button until the PRESS TO CALIBRATE COMPASS screen is displayed.
4. Press the set/reset button to start the compass calibration.
5. The DIC will display CALIBRATING: DRIVE IN CIRCLES. Drive the vehicle in circles at less than 8 km/h (5 mph) to complete the calibration. The DIC will display CALIBRATION COMPLETE when the calibration is complete.

Manual Compass Calibration If the compass appears erratic and the calibration symbol does not appear, you must manually put the compass into the calibration mode. To get into this mode, do the following: 1. Turn the ignition on and cycle the DIC to the compass/temperature mode. 2. Press and hold the SET button for longer than three seconds. ZONE # PRESS & HOLD SET TO CHANGE: This display mode will be displayed when you are manually calibrating the system. The current zone number for compass variance will be displayed in place of the # symbol. Use the SET button to select the zone number from the graphic shown to select the current area of the country that you are driving in. PRESS SET TO CALIBRATE COMPASS: After selecting your zone, press the MODE button and this will be displayed on the DIC. Press the SET button and complete three 360 degree turns in an area free from large metal objects. The following two messages will toggle in the display until you calibrate the compass: • DRIVE VEHICLE IN CIRCLE • CALIBRATING COMPASS When calibration is complete, the display will return to its normal mode. 3-61 info obtained from MANUAL OWL

The zone nine is for the compass you need to calibrate the compass. and then you temp will work again. check the owners manual if you do not have one call the service department at a ford dealer they should be able to help you.

im taking an educated guess- ive done it maybe once or twice in a chrysler- try to go into the MENU by hitting the buttons for menu and reset. if u luck out it will say something like calibrate or calibrate compass on the screen. now it will either tell u what to do or if not drive carefully in a small circle slowly clockwise and then counterclockwise several times. as youre doing this it might suddenly pop up "calibration complete" or something similar. i almost forgot- IF U HAVE THE OWNERS MANUAL ,LOOK IN THERE 1ST. if not try what i said.

you have to calibrate it.get the procedure from the owners manual or a reprint from the gm dealer for a couple dollars.

Typically the "OC" indicates your compass is out of calibration.
If you check your owners manual it will tell you how to re-calibrate the compass.
