Part number 8E0951253
It's not to hard to replace located under the hood by the driver side fuse box under the windshield. Taking and putting the fuse box cover is the hardest part of all

Hi William:
First confirm that the fuse is good.
Then confirm (use voltmeter) that there is power at that fuse.
Then use the meter to check for power at the fuel pump.
Odds are that you either have a broken wire or a bad connection, possibly where the wire connects to the fuel pump.
Confirm that the ircuit is grounded.
Hope this helps
First check the fuse area for a blown fuel pump fuse or a fuel pump relay gone bad. Put some fuel in the carb area/air intake and try to start. If it starts momentarily it should be a fuel problem. If there is no momentary start, you are not getting spark. to the plugs. Think I would go with the fuel idea first.
NEED HAVE VECHICLE CODE SCANNED FIRST LOOK FOR FAULT CODES MANY THINGS WILL CAUSE NO STARTING,LIKE BAD CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR.FAULTY CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR,BAD SPARK PLUGS FOULED OUT BY FLOODING ENGINE DUE TO LEAKING FUEL INJECTORS,BAD ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR,BAD MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR.FAULTY ECM. CODE SCAN VECHICLE FIRST.IF NO FAULT CODES CAME UP YOU COULD HAVE FAULT IN FUEL SYSTEM, COULD HAVE STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER,BAD FUEL PUMP RELAY OR FUSE THE FUEL PUMP COULD BE FAULTY. TURN IGNITION SWITCH TO ON POSITION LISTEN FOR FUEL PUMP OPERATION IN FUEL TANK, YOU SHOULD HEAR FUEL PUMP RUN FOR FEW SECONDS THEN TURN OFF.IF NO FUEL PUMP BAD MORE LIKELY BUT CHECK FUSE AND RELAY FIRST BEFORE BUYING NEW FUEL PUMP.DONT BUY NEW PARTS HAVE VECHICLE CODE SCANNED FIRST USING DIAGNOSTIC SCANNER YOU COULD HAVE BAD CONTAMINATED FUEL.
have you tried replacing the Fuel filter, your pump wont cut back in if there is pressure at the pump, the filter on my A8 is just under the rear Right hand sill in front of wheel arch, it has a plastic/fibre cover hiding it, otherwise just follow the fuel line from the pump ,otherwise it may be the fuel pump relay heating up and breaking contact, try to have a diagnostic done,my relays are under the passengers feet , if you intend keeping the car get yourself a workshop manual from bentley publishers, its worth gold in the long run , what does the A6 have normal coil ignition or a ignition coil for each plug, if so that may be your answer,a diagnostics check will tell you
HI,COULD BE ONE OF FOUR THINGS,1-PUMPS DO BURN OUT TRY A 12V DIRECT FEED TO TEST 2-FUSE? 3-FUEL PUMP CUT OFF SWITCH ,IF FITTED NEEDS RESETTING .4-FUEL PUMP RELAY GONE (COMMOM) THANKS.
