The NGK plugs were pre-gapped at about .030. The Bentley VW shop manual specs a 1.1mm maximum gap, which is about .043.

The vw ngk plugs are pre gapped. If you have a misfire it's more likely either a coil, bad fuel, or a faulty ecm.

SOURCE: VW Passat 2006 service now

2 options depending on your displays .

Press and hold the service wrench button with the ignition off. While still holding the button, turn your ignition to "on" (but don't start the car). Press the Min clock button and then release the wrench button.

With key off press and hold the 0.0 button on the cluster. With your other hand turn the key to the on position , while still holding 0.0 button, press the minute button for 1 second and you will see the service reset.

cheers

Spark plug gap for 06VW Passat 3.6L

dude, so simple, go to any parts store or call, if you go in person and need plug gap info, it will say on the box, have the store guys give you the gap info, NGK has many different types of plugs for the 3.6 and each may require different gaps. The NGK spec for that motor is a gap of 0.043 in. for the IRIDIUM spark plugs.

How do you turn off the immobilizer on a Volkswagon Passat and remove the wrong key that was used?

Just happened to me in a 2006 VW Passat 2.0T - Automatic. You simply need to depress the brake and then press the button on the shift lever 3 times. You will then hear the key being released and you can pull it out.

I have coolant leaking from my 2006 VW Passat. The VW dealership told us that we need to replace 2 heater hoses and a Flange. This work would cost over $500. Does this sound right? It seems really...

try ebay for these parts new and do it yourself or buy the parts and get a garage to do it.Old mk2 golfs flanges would crack after age but for a 3 year model to do this sounds odd particulary the hoses.

This is caused by excessive ABS sensor air gap. You might need to adjust the air gap on the speed sensor to the new cv shaft.
