THE TRANS COOLER IN THE RADIATOR IS LEAKING. DO NOT- REPEAT DO NOT DRIVE AS MAJOR TRANS DAMAGE WILL OCCUR. AFTER HAVING THE RADIATOR REPLACED YOU ALSO NEED TO HAVE THE FLUID AND FILTER REPLACED AFTER DOING A TRANS FLUSH TO REMOVE ALL THE FLUID . A SIMPLE FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE WILL NOT REMOVE THE APPROX 8 QTS OF FLUID IN THE TORQUE CONVERTER. HOPE ITS NOT TO LATE.
Water mixed into trans fluid or oil will cause a milky appearance. Either there is a bad seal on the trans and you drove thru flood waters or the heat transfer pipe for the trans that is inside of the radiator has failed. Don't drive!!! Have it towed to a trans shop and have them check it out or you may be replacing the entire trans.
SOURCE: transmission fluid
Sounds like the radiator is cracked inside and leaking into the trans cooler section.
SOURCE: rear diff fluid is a milky color and it whines while driving
Sounds like there is water getting into the diff. Most of the time it is from the vent on the top. That will cause damage to the bearings and make noise.
SOURCE: transmission fluid milky what can
Milky, means water have mixed w/ ur transmission fluid!
There must be some leak during the cooling process in the oil cooling system!
It goes through the main engine radiator, there must be some holes that water seeps through the transmission tube!
Go to ur nearest garage to check on it before the damage in ur transmission could get big!
Tahh!
SOURCE: what would cause power steering fluid turn milky in 2000 chrysler 300?
The power steering is a sealed system. No way coolant could get in there. It might be contaminated by moisture from the air though. So you could suction it out (a turkey baster works great), and replace with clean fluid.
Wasw the engine overheating from low coolant level? Hopefully, thats all it was. Keep it full!
