Tech Code "dtc P0014" 2003 Trailblazer - posted in Chevy ... it had been serviced before for the same thing in 2003 or 2004! ... replace the camshaft actuator solenoid, change the engine oil and .... The extended war. co. prob. would not be to happy since they already fixed the sensor once or twice already.
The code P0014 is for Camshaft Positon Sensor Actuator Bank 1. The possible causes are incorrect camshaft timing, wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve solenoid system; continuous oil flows to VCT piston chamber or failed timing valve control solenoid(stuck open). The code P0015 is for Camshaft Position -Timing Over-******** (Bank 1). Your problem will probably be that the timing will be slightly out, due to wear (stretch) of the timing chain; this will all be linked to the overall cold start issue and the timing position. Get that timing checked, or push for the full fix for the cold start timing issue.
its a common problem usually worse when cold weather strikes. its a seal in the transmission. i think they call it the "F" seal. this is a transmission rebuild fix. usually makes the car worthless due to high cost of repair. look here for more info. http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/auto_transmission/autotranservicing.html
It is not possible to have that reset or turned off "Service Due!" without using a diagnostic scantool connected to the data link connector of the car. This is the only one way to reset service due light on 2007 Audi A8.
You are in a 2006 you can stop worrying about your thermostate for atleast 2 more years unless your in a tropical zone and your useing water instead of coolant most cars can spend up 50,000 mile before you change such things
Every 60,000 miles. Change the timing belt, accessory serpentine belt, hydraulic timing tensioner, tensioner and idler rollers, tensioner relay arm, water pump, thermostat, and coolant. A dealer will charge you $1100 or more, and an independent European specialist probably $650-750. If you're in range of the southern tier of NY, I can do it for you (I specialize in Audi and VW). Order your parts online and I'll do the work for $250 in labor.
