Have set timing but still not working
The timing is set with a timing light ,the marks are on the crankshaft pulley and timing cover. to make things easy to see apply a dab of white paint to each with a marker. start the engine and check the marks line up at engine idle , increase engine speed 3000 RPM the timing should have advanced several degrees, if so all is ok.

The separated gears are turned in opposite direction to each other untill the locking holes align.
It needs abit of force to align the holes,then lock the holes with M6 bolt.

Refer to the diagram and torque bolts in sequence as shown in 3 passes. Bolt thread should be lightly oiled. Bolt holes clean of dirt.
1st pass : 39 N.m. (29ft lb)
Make a mark on the bolt with white-out/chalk or similar in the forward facing edge of the bolt.(see diagram)
2nd pass : turn bolt through 90 degrees
3rd pass : turn bolt through a further 90 degrees.
Using a mark on the bolt makes it easier to keep track of where in the sequence you are.

It is OBD II all cars world-wide were required to be OBD II by the 1997 model year. The port should be located under the dash on the drivers side of the car. It looks like a serial port on the back of a home computer.
