I suggest utilizing Rust Bullet, it is a very good rust inhibitor. I have utilized it on my car chassis and never had rust issues again.

You can check the below link for the automotive kit:

There is a paint on rust converter . You paint it on the rust and it turns it back into metal . After that i would spray the rubberized under coating to protect it.

SOURCE: i'm changing my brake pads and discs, but my discs are rusted on

You use a 2x4 with small sledge,or a plastic heavyweight hammer
like mechanics use and do what Emission said. If you soak it make sure its free of this oil when it goes back on,and that no oil will drip from assembly when it goes back on. Beating the disk has always come off with the right hammer without oil.

SOURCE: RADIATOR IS RUSTED!

a radiator flush chemical may be a bad idea if the radiator is rusted up inside.drain out as much as you can, fill with distilled water only, then idle the car till it is at full operating temp. then drain the water and do the same thing one more time. after that, fill with your 50-50 mix of antifreeze/water and that will be about as clean as you can safely get it.

Why my gear shift locks when trying to put in reverse?

Are you pressing in the release button on the auto trans selector?
you may need to have the cable that runs from the selector to the trans checked and adjusted, or it might actually be all rusted up if you live in a snowy area.
if there is some other reason for this happening could you get back to us as your answer may help someone else in the future.

How long can I expect the muffler/exhaust system to last before needing replacement? My 2003 Pathfinder has about 86,000 miles and entered service in March 2003. Purchased used a little over one year ago.

Under normal conditions they can last 15 years or more..

If the car has been up north in any of the states that salt their roads in the winter - that will sertainly shorten the time..

Or if the car has been on or close to beaches..

Road conditions - debris - puntures - etc....

Hope this helps !!

Dashboard and tail lights out on 97" Nissan Sentra

I took my pathfinder to U-HAUL and asked them to check the towing lights. There was a pinched wire by my tail light and they cut it and changed it out for me, it was $5. I am so glad that I didnt take it to Nissan. My second step was going to be getting a new dimmer switch..but the guy who worked on my car said that wouldnt be the problem. He also told me that replacing a fuse that kept blowing out was dangerous and after the first time to get it checked out. Learn something new every day!!
