Bad door jamb switch or body control module(BCM). You will need to put on a scanner to determine what the BCM is seeing.

2007 Yaris: Key reminder buzzer and auxiliary/accessory beeping not working

I reckon it can only be three things;

The door switch because it signals that the door is open. Does the interior light come on when you open the door?

The microswitch in the ignition lock that identifies there is a key in the lock.

Or it needs reprogramming by the dealership.

Changed battery and now remote doesn't work. it is on a 2008 isuzu dmax

put key in ignition and turn to on position, engine not running, with door open. Then press unlock button, lock button. If door lock cycles lock, unlock, it was out of synchronisation and will now work. if not there is another problem with the system. with the interior light switch set on door, do all door switches work or turn the interior light on when opening the door?
there were 2 different separate remote keys rectangle or heart shaped which on do you have. hopefully you have the rectangle one. both of these types have a programming procedure you could carry out but it is dependant on 10th digit in VIN number (year model) for procedure. later models had buttons in mechanical key head.

Have a 2004 dodge caravan battery went put in a new one interior lights came back on when turn the key to start the van it shuts off no lights no nothing and in a few minutes the lights come back on

Try this to reset the system

Insert the ignition key into the driver side door lock.

  • Turn the key counterclockwise to unlock the door.

  • Turn the key clockwise to initiate the alarm activation sequence.

  • Turn the key counterclockwise. The alarm will stop and reset itself.

    I own a 1986 chrysler 5th Avenue, that apparently has major electrical problems. The interior lights will not turn off when the ignition is on, and will stay on when the doors are locked.

    If they don't turn off at all, sounds like a door jamb switch is broken, or the headlight switch. Both provide power for the interior lights.

    I have a 2006 VW Polo. The chime that used to come on if i forgot to switch the headlights off does not work anymore. How can i fix this?

    Hi,the chime is triggered by the ignition and door switch a easy way to test the ignition is if ignition is on and radio on and key is turned of and key is removed from ignition the radio must go of by it self if not ignition is faulty or have dirt inside so clean out with some cleaning spray.if problem is in door the interior lights will not work like it must with opening and closing of door.hope this helps.Conraad
