Its sensing that there is a key in the ignition. You have to replace the switch in the ignition cylinder that senses a key is inserted. Or alternatively access a wiring diagram and cut the wire from the key sensor to eliminate it.

SOURCE: Navigator Door Chime goes off when car off and I open the door. Radio system stays on & interior lights go off when door shuts.

All this comes from the GEM module,You will need to repair the driver door lamp switch located in the door lock assemble.

Need to know how to fix the windows in the stereo in my 1996 Lincoln Continental.all the fuses are fine, I don't know what to do next

None of the windows work ? You say fuses are good , which fuses ? Did you pull them all out an look at them ? Did you check for power - battery voltage at the window switches ? There is a driver door module involved !
  • Power Windows Completely Inoperative
  • Supply open or shorted.
  • Ground open.
  • Window regulator control switch inoperative.
  • Circuits open or shorted.
  • Window regulator electric drive inoperative.
  • Driver door module.
  • PERFORM driver door module self test. Service DTCs. If no DTCs are retrieved, GO to Pinpoint Test C .
If you don't know electrical circuit testing suggest you take to a AES certified repair shop ! If you plan to do this anyway your going to need a wiring diagram , wiring harness layout , volt ohm meter !

Computer readout does not show and beeps all the time

Disable??? It sounds to me like it is already disabled if it doesn't work. That is why the warning chime is going off. What you need to do is diagnose the problem and REPAIR it.

Door ajar warning light comes on and stays on even though all doors are secure.Sometimes the warning light goes out, only to go off again when car is locked 4 the night triggering car alarm. My guess is the...

switches are in the latch and you will have to start by turning the ignition key to on and then open and close each door. when you get to the door that doesn't make a chime sound when opened or closed. that is the door with the latch problem. you will need to replace the switch for that latch

1996 lincilon continental drivers door will not shut

The latch in the door is in the closed possition most likley or the latch is broken all together. Hold the door open pull on the handle. use a screw driver to unlatch the closed catch. it looks like a sideways w that closes in on itself around the striker on the door.
