I have a 2000 dodge neon and the idle is extremely high even when i put it in gear. what would cause that and how do i fix it?
You might need a new idle air control module, dont adjust your idle
Problem solved. I replaced intake gaskets, idle air control, none of this worked to stop the high or rough idle. Finally i found a leak around the intake hose that also connects to the throttle body. Was hard to find because the metal bands that secure this hose into place covered the air leak. After replacing the hose, problem solved.
I would have to hear what you're talking about but if it sounds like your car is trying to rev itself as though you were pressing the accelerator while you have it in park and idling, you may want to take a look at your air intake manifold and check for holes in it.
The ide needs ajusted
