the best way to fix it is find a good savlge yard , you will need complete steering column with switchs wiring and anti theft control box. they need to be match set all from the same car. shop around make shure they understand your problem , all the parts will cost about 250.00 350.00$ make shure to get money back warr.if not keep shoping. make shure the person understands and knows the system if not it will not work. I have repaired over 20 of this type and the first one sent me back to the school of hardknoxs.

Hi

Have you removed and parts out of the car from around the colum? there is a transponder normally around the ignition barrel that can only be seen when the plastics are removed. This is normally a black box or cylinder with a wired plug going to it. both the key and the car have a transponder chip in them, if you move the ignition switch or the key to far away then it will not start. basically if you have moved the black box away from where it should be then they wont match up and the car will not start.

Hope this helps, please ask if you need more specific information

Regards and a happy new year
Dan

I assume the factory alarm was somehow bypassed when they installed the remote start is there a way I can make the factory alarm work when the doors are opened without key,?

To arm content theft alarm.
1. Open the door.
2. Lock the door with the power door lock switch or
the remote keyless entry transmitter. The
SECURITY light should flash.
3. Close all doors. The SECURITY light should go off
after approximately 30 seconds. The alarm is not
armed until the SECURITY light goes off.

If a locked door is opened without the key or the remote keyless entry transmitter, the alarm will go off. The headlamps and parking lamps will flash for two minutes, and the horn will sound for 30 seconds, then will turn off to save the battery power.

Mustang alarm

Ford sold a Ford branded alarm through the parts department. These sometimes were a dealer installed option on new cars. Mine would randomly stop responding to the remote and I would have the same symptoms as you describe. I had it removed and the original equipment factory system still worked. Be warned, if you have the Ford "accessory" alarm, your key fobs (remotes) are different and the method to program them is different from what you will read online. You can tell if you have the system by looking at your key fob. The standard Mustang key fob is a 4 button (lock, unlock, panic, and trunk). The accessory alarm uses a 3 button remote and clicking unlock twice would pop the trunk. I really wish I had a picture of the remote because there are 3 button Ford key fobs for cars without a trunk release although I don't think you should have one on a Mustang. Long story short, if you have the accessory alarm, you can solve your problem by having it removed but you will need new 4 button key fobs to remotely lock/unlock your doors

I have a 1997 vw cabrio. i replaced my battery n when i hook up the battery my alarm goes off n my driver side lock cylinder fell out how do i disarm my alarm?

You need to bypass the alarm if you do not have the remote to disable it and the key lock fell out. I have posted multiple times about how to bypass the stock alarm and still have everything work. If you need any help on doing this please feel free to message me.

Had original radio replaced-no problems until I

lock your door and hold the key in that position, and then turn it the other way and hold it until they roll up, this should set the alarm back. If that doesnt work try replacing the radio with the stock one, your third option is to bypass the alarm module.

Im instaling a remote start alarm on my 1999 ford f 150 how do i bipass the anti theft and i do not want to carry 2 remotes around

The 2 Key fob part, is to get a remote start that also has the RKE ( Remote Keyless Entry ) function. The the RMST / RKE system is installed, the RMST fob would be able to operate the door locks ( you can put the factory RKE fobs in the drawer )

the PATS ( Passive AntiTheft System ) part is to get a PATS bypass module for the remote start. The remote start that you purchase needs to be able to activate this prior to starting the truck ( usually pulse / signal outputs, most mfgr of RMST have these ).

There are a few PATS bypass modules, I have only used the Ford branded one ( which I think is also made by CodeAlarm, not 100% sure ).

if it is a ford remote or ford factory alarm remote cycle the key from off to run(usually 8 times) untill you hear door locks activate. at this exact time key needs to be in the on position.touch unlock or lock on all remotes being programmed and make sure door locks respond to remotes. then turn key off ending programming mode.then try your fobs they should work

Lost original car alarm control... need to reset a new one...

programing a Nissan remote , is hidden secret by Nissan Dealers. As a Nissan Technician i will share it.

Just get in your vech , close all doors. Using your power lock switch , lock all doors. After doors are locked take your Ignition Key and insert it and remove it from ignition switch in a slow fashion , but consitant pace. (97 and earlyer are fast) When you see the hazzard lights flash, put key in ignition switch and turn to the On postion .. Do NOT CRANK or you will have to Start over .. After in the On postion .. Hit the Lock button on remote... Hazzard lights should flash..( note..you have to reprogram all remotes when adding a new one , if you don't your old remotes will not work ) If your doing just the one , turn igntion switch off and unlock door and get out and try it. If you are doing more than one. While still in Vech with Key on . After you hit the Lock button on Remote and hazzard light flashed .. with key still on .. use master lock switch unlock doors and relock and then hit Second Remote, Lights should flash again , repeat if adding a 3rd remote.. after done just turn key off and unlock door and get out and try.
