SOURCE: How to change the serpentine belt on '98 Plymouth Breeze?

All you need is a long prubar (or you can rent a tensioner wrench at the parts store) essentially a open end wrench with a 3 ft handle.
Put the tensioner wrench on the nub of the tensioner and pull back... this will release the tension on the old belt. Remove it from one of the pulleys, and then from the entire system.
Note how it is routed through the pulleys, and put the new one on the same way.
The car should have a sticker on the radiator support telling you the path of the belt.

SOURCE: serpentine belt on 96 breeze 2.4L

you can get step by step instructions from a chilton manual. i go to the library, and copy the page or pages i need. libraries have every chilton auto manuals. may have to rent a specialty tool for belt tensioner pulley. can be rented at any parts store, money is returned when tool is. usually 20 bucks. put tool on tension pulley, pull to loosen belt tension, with other hand slip belt off of alternator or easiest pulley to get to. before you take belt off take a mental picture of belt route. when installing new belt remember if pulley is smooth it contacts smooth side of belt.

SOURCE: 1996 plymouth breeze, leaking water pump. how

this depends on your level of mechanical expertise - it is an internal water pump, meaning you will need to disassemble the timing components to service (this is also a good time to replace the timing belt, as it needs to come off anyways and the belt is relatively inexpensive). if your vehicle has the 2.4 liter engine, there is nothing very difficult about this timing belt. however, i tend to caution people about attempting this if they are inexperienced, as reassembling the timing components incorrectly can cost you and engine. good luck!

2000 plymouth breeze found drain plug on radiator turned it nothing came out i put 2 pitchers of water in so i know there is liquid in it

The area behind the drain plug on the radiator is likely plugged up with debris. Removing the lower radiator hose will do the same thing and a little faster. You also run the risk of the drain plug leaking if you remove it. Removing the lower hose will prevent this from happening as well. I am looking to locate the water pump on a 99 plymouth breeze

The water pump on both the 2.0 and 2.4 is behind the timing cover on the passenger side. The water pump is driven by the timing belt, and typically this is not a repair for the non-experienced mechanic. If the timing components are not aligned properly when reassembling, internal damage to the engine will occur.

How much should a dealership charge to replace timing belt and water pump on 1999 Plymouth Breeze 2.0?

it depends what their door rate is to do the job and they can charge what they can as far as parts are concerned.you don`t say if its a dohc or a sohc(dual or single cam motor).roughly it would take about 3.5-5 hours to change the timing belt and about .4-.7 to change the water pump.call around and compare prices as this doesn`t have to be done at a dealer.

How do I change the serpentine belt on a 1998 Plymouth Breeze?

look around the power steering pump, (Under or maybe behind) you should see a belt tensioner, loosen it and any other brackets close to that have a sliding point, once loose, the belt should slip right6 off, pay close attichion to the way it comes off, you don't wanna put it back on backwards, or your water pump will run in the wrong direction and cause it to over heat
