Sounds like you have a standard transmission if it has a clutch.
Start requires the clutch to be pressed in for safety reasons.
If you have it in gear when you press the break the engine
will stall without your feathering the clutch. Sounds like you may not have learned how to drive a standard transmission car yet.
Otherwise there's a short between the clutch safty switch and the brake light circuit.
IF YOU ARE HAVING BRAKES PROBLEMS THEN YOU NEED TO STOP DRIVING VEHICLE... get it check by dealer repair should be covered under warranty
sounds like a computer software problem
SEQUENCE ACTIVATED BY THE PARKING BRAKE . 1. While engine is running (key in ignition switch), apply the brakes and hold the pedal down. 2. Move gearshift lever to neutral. 3. Apply the parking brake Once Twice Note: The system can be set - at time of installation - to require that the parking brake be applied once or twice. If set for two actuations, pause one second between the two. 4. Remove key from ignition (the system keeps the engine running). 5. Exit the vehicle. 6. Within 60 seconds, close all doors. 7. The system will stop the engine and blink the parking brakes once to confirm the sequence is valid (vehicle is ready for a remote start command). SEQUENCE ACTIVATED BY THE REMOTE CONTROL 1. While engine is running (key in ignition switch), apply the brakes and hold the pedal down. 2. Move gearshift lever to neutral. 3. Apply parking brake. 4. Send the start command (Model 801 & 2101 - Model 903 ). 5. Remove key from ignition (the system keeps the engine running). 6. Exit the vehicle. 7. Using the remote, send the STOP command. The system will stop the engine and parking lights will blink once to confirm that the sequence is valid (vehicle is ready for a remote start command). http://www.astrostart.com/Support/Guides.aspx
Might have to reset the codes on the computer. Take the + battery cable off the battery and reconnect it afer 5 minutes. Next try to start the engine without holding the gas petal down, it should start and run rought till the computer resets itself. If engine stops, restart the engine and hold the gas petal down and give it enought gas so it will run smooth, it may take 5 minutes or so for it to smooth out and run at idle speed. If this did not fix the problem, check for a vaccum hose that may be off some where on the engine
Will the car move at all. If you put it in gear and let your foot off brake , does it move untill you touch gas , or does it jam up as soon as wheels start to turn. I am suspecting problem with diff.
Doubtfull about trans filter.
with the engine running with the emergency brake on place the car in gear and press the brake pedal dow. Keep in down for two minutes and pay attention if the pedal starts moving towards the floorboard more. If it does the master cylinder is getting weak and will need a replacement soon
The problem is either in the mechanism that pushes the rod that activates the ignition switch from the key lock cylinder, or the ignition switch is defective.
cluts should say "clutch"
