Question about 1992 Acura Legend

Open Question

JUST FINISHED A HEAD GASKET JOB ON 92 LEGEND,WHEN CONNECTNG THE UNDER HOOD FUSE BOX-THE BATTERY HOT WIRE CONNECT TO WHICH TERMINAL, TOWARD THE FRONT OF CAR OR NEAREST DASH?

I went to an Acura dealer to buy the transistor for the rear A/C unit. The service advisor told me that the problem with the front A/C was probably due to a defective front transistor / resistor. I bought that part too.

The front transistor is located next to the blower motor under the dash on the passenger's side. It is secured by three or four small bolts. The one on the bottom left is very close to the carpet and the most difficult to get off and put back on.

The rear transistor is located behind the carpeted trim panel on the center console (driver's side). The carpeted trim panel is secured by clips only - there are no screws, so remove it carefully starting at the side near the accellerator pedal. Once the panel has been removed, reach inside a small hole in the metal frame to access the rear transistor. It is removed by twisting it and pulling it out. The hole in the frame is small and you might find pliers helpful.

After replacing both parts, the front and rear A/C are working. Apparently these transistors are common failures. If the A/C is out in your Acura MDX and the fuse checks good, a new transistor will likely solve your problem.

sealers usually end up costing you more in the long term than the short term. these sealers react to heat and air. so you end up doing nothing more than plugging up you radiator, water passage ports, water pumps get damaged. causing more over heating problems than they solve. no i would go for what the shop gave you as a quote. that seems a pretty reasonable quote for the position you are in.

Horn does not blow. hard to push on steering wheel. Fuse under dash seems to be o.k. Is horn in wheel well??


The horn/s are located on front cross-member.
Note the horn wiring diagram. The horn relay should be located in under hood fuse box, remove the relay, use jumper wire between terminal 30 and 87, the horn should sound. If it does, problem on control side of relay/coil in the picture. Usually the problem is the horn button--wiring in steering column, maybe the clock spring? Terminal 30 is hot/voltage all the time. Use a test lite to check voltage. At the proper fuse, not only check the fuse, check voltage at the fuse circuit.

2000 chevy blazer horn doesnt work


check fuse box inside of car also fuse box under hood too..find ur horns and if possible u can reach the wire thats plugged into each one disconnect them 1 at a time get another wire long enough too reach ur battery connect 1 end to horn with other end of wire gentl touch battery positive terminal horn should sound if bothe horns sound u have a fuse blown..

Fan not working...my car is overheating


The fuses are located in the fuse box under the hood, but could be the fan motor too, check if you have power at the motor

1996 Saturn Fan won't work


-Why you want to hook up a switch to the fan...? You want to turn it on when you want?
-No Problem. Here some basic installation.
-Connect the hot wire to the positive (+) battery terminal.
-Connect both left over wire to the switch. Then connect 1 wire from the other side of the switch to ground. you should be good to cool down.

Removing the fuse box under the hood to check for wire shortages


Try running both wires from battery ground and hot dont spin over more than likely the fan motor itself is burnt up.

Not getting fire to the fuel pump shut-off switch.


Hi, first check fuses 28 and 34 in the box under the hood. If the fuses are good, use a 12 volt test light or voltmeter to see if there is battery voltage at fuse 34. If there is voltage at the fuse, the problem is likely the fuel pump relay in the interior fuse box, but could be the ground signal/wire from the PCM. If there is no voltage at the fuse, check the socket of the PCM power relay. Pull the relay out, connect your test light clip to chassis ground, and probe the terminals in the relay socket. There should be one hot terminal with the key off and 2 hot terminals with the key on. If not, the PCM diode may be bad. Please let me know the outcome of your tests or if you have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

I have a porsche boxter 986 year 2000 and can not open the bonet


you need to pull the C3 fuse and insert a wire and then put the fuse back in.
connect the neg ground to the metal steering column and the positive to the wire. close the car door and turn the door key on and off three times. open the door and now the hood latch will work.

Wire color scheme for alternator plug.


ok ric , now the tensioner , notice a 15mm bolt head on the tensioner pulley , put a wrench on that 15mm head and turn clockwise , that will unload the tensioner , install your belt according to the belt wrap picture under the hood , release tensioner , and you should be good to go . however ,,,,,
last thing , there are like 5 fuses involved in this circuit , 1.) a 120 amp fuse in the fuse block , left side of engine compartment , 2.) a 60 amp fuse in the same place as #1 , 3.) a 7.5 amp fuse in the relay box - left side of engine compartment , 4.) a 7.5 amp in the left side of dash fuse panel , and 5.) another 7.5 amp fuse in the same panel as #4 . sure is a very well protected circuit ..

If he means the cables were put on backwards, you probably blew your 100A battery fuse.

If absolutely nothing turns on and nothing happens, thats most likely what you blew.

Its located in the under-hood fuse box. Its the biggest one in the box and you'll need an 8mm socket or a philips head, but I would recommend the socket. Those bolts are tight.
