it's not on either side of the engine, it is behind the motor underneath the manifold.

What type of transmisson oil do I use for a 1996 ford crown victoria and oil filter

The fluid you need is called mercon type ATF this is what ford recommends to use and should say it on the bottle. as for a filter for the transmission or engine I recommend motorcraft filters they meet ford specifications and are available at most auto parts stores.

I have a 94 ford probe 4 cylinder 2.0 liter engine could a 96 ford f150 battery fit?

take the battery out of the probe and try it, if it fits in the tray and does not hit the bottom of the hood then when you close then it fits.

96 probe trany

Ford ATF is different from Dexron. Ford fluid contains banana oil, Dexron doesn't. Use only what it calls for. Or, you will always wonder. Good Luck.

EGR VALVE ON 96 FORD PROBE SE

If it's a 2.0L, 5 speed (1994-7) there are two DPFE solenoids (both w/ 3 vacuum ports) near the oil filter, which control the EGR valve. They are discontinued and impossible to find except on junked cars. (FORD #'s K5T44093-4)
I have to junk my 1996 Probe if I don't find them - Missouri emissions.
