Rear door is hard to lift when opening.

Try to reset the tailgate by removing the no.7 (7.5 amp) fuse in the underdash fuse box. Open and close the tailgate manually, reinstall the fuse, and try the open tailgate button. There are gas charged mini-shocks which open the door. Get a new set on ebay, stay away from the dealer. They are not hard to replace, tricky part is to have someone there to hold it up while you work on it so the hatch does not fall on your head. I am sure any garage could do this for you in less than a half hour if you are not mechanically inclined.

the DOOR CHECK is broken. There is a screw are at the opening handle trim and the arm rest should have a screw. then the plastic clips, hold the panel to the door. You may pry gently to get the panel off, if you have to force it apart, not all screws are out. The window handle has a small clip holding it, it pulls out towards the knob, be careful that it doesnt fly off and you lose it.
