Probably forgot to put the drain plug back, now the engine is starting to seize as the bearings burn themselves out.

SOURCE: i recently got a oil and filter change now i hear knocking noise

If the oil has been changed, why are you putting more oil into the engine? Does the engine use/burn oil, or have an oil leak? If you have none of these problems, then you may be overfilling the engine which is just as bad as no oil.

Have you ever run out of oil? Do you change the oil and filter regularly? That sounds like big end bearings knocking.

How do you replace the knock sensor on a 2001 nissan altima?

Knock sensor is located very close to oil filter, in fact, to make it easier to reach, oil filter may need to be removed. Held in by one 10mm bolt.

Oil pump been replaced, knock senser and oil sending unit. oil light comes on and load ticking ,when its cold started on my 98 nissan altima

Go back to where you got the work done if you can.If not then i would get the oil preasure checked as the low light tells me the preasure is below 8 psi and the ticking is from the lash adjustors at the tappets verifys low preasure too.

I own a 2005 altima w/ 180,000 miles on it. about a yr ago it started making a pecking noise.(the sound that makes you think it's low of oil, only the oil was fine) recently the pecking has gotten very...

Yes It could be the timing belt because as your car ages and the belt gets worn it starts to stretch. If your timing belt stretches enough your car will come out of time and that will cause a peck or knock. Another thing that you may look into if you have not had a tune up recently is spark plugs and wires. If you have worn plugs or wires it can also cause this to happen on occasion. I hope this helps you out.

The engine seems to have oil, but the light is on in my 1995 nissan altima

The oil light means you have low oil pressure but not necessarily low oil.
Low oil pressure can lead to serious engine problems and should be fixed right away.

98 altima oil light on and off oil level fine car restarted and

If oil pressure is LOW this vehicle has a safety feature that will prevent vehicle from starting.(check oil level before you start) Now what I wan't you to do is to have the oil pressure switch checked or changed. This may be the reason why this vehicle is not starting or it can also be that the actual oil pressure is low. To check the oil pressure of the vehicle you will need an oil pressure guage. Remove the oil pressure switch and connect guage to oil pressure hole and check oil pressure while cranking vehicle. Some pressure testers can be connected to oil filter housing either is fine. If this vehicle has low oil pressure the reasons for that are bad oil pump, clogged oil pump pick up(from lack of oil change/poor mantainence) or bad connecting rod and main bearings but this usually have a warning from before (the engine will sound loud by knocking /clicking-tapping noise) It this was happening you may need to rebuild this engine or replace it. Good luck and Thanks for using FIX YA
