The immobiliser will not switch off on a 96 discovery can i bypass it

you cant bypass it,call your dealer,if we knew how to bypass it,,everyone including car thieves would know

you cannot disable the immobiliser. it is a system mercedes has put into to prevent theft. however, you can bypass the immobiliser (otherwise known as EIS, Electronic Ignition Switch) in order to switch ON the car, but you wont be able to start it.
what you need to do it remove the connector from the back of the EIS module and bridge terminals 15r and terminal 30. i recommend getting a wiring diagram specific to your car to be sure of the terminals.

however, do this at your own risk.

would advise against trying to bypass park switch try ajusting first

if it is the factory alarm then it cannot be bypassed.you can ie send the ecu back to a company here in the uk to have the immobiliser bypassed or you can have two new fobs reprogrammed from your old fob,email me [email protected] and i will pass company details on.

After ages searching finally found this on the Cobra site.... A8510 KEY PROGRAMING Ensure the immobiliser is disarmed :- 1) Switch the ignition ON and OFF three times then back to the ON position within seven seconds. 2) The LED on the dashboard will light up signaling the unit is in programming mode. 3) Touch an already programmed key onto receptical, the LED will extinguish for one second 4) Repeat step 3 for all other keys (Max of 4 touch keys) 5) To exit programming switch off the ignition key (unit will automatically exit programming after four keys) NOTE :- 1) Programing procedure can only entered with the system disarmed. 2) If all keys have been lost the system will need to be replaced
