What is the physical location on a 2006 Chevy truck with a v -6 engine
The ECM is near the fuse box. open you hood. stand in front of you drivers side headlights and look down. itll be between the head lights and the fuse box and its under the radiator hose IIRC. the ecm is covered by a black cover. you need to remove that to see the actual ecm. Here is a helpfull site also before you buy a new ECM. http://www.ehow.com/how_7315090_reset-ecm-chevy-truck.html

SOURCE: where are the sparkplugs located on a 4.2 inline 6
Under the top of the engine there is a cover. Remove this plastic cover and under you will find an individual coil on each cylinder held in place by a bolt. Unplug the coil, remove the bolt that holds the coil in place and twist apull up gently to remove the coil boot. Under the coil is the plug. Use platinum plugs that are rated for about 80k miles so you don't have to do this procedure but once every few years. Hope this helps, good luck

THE CAM SHAFT ACTUATOR IS LOCATED IN THE CYLINDER HEAD ON THE FRONT RIGHT HAND SIDE JUST ABOVE THE POWER STEERING PUMP. AFTER YOU REMOVE THE ACTUATOR CHECK TO SEE IF ANY OF THE SCREENS ARE DAMAGED OR MISSING. IF SO REPLACE THE ACTUATOR. ALSO CHECK THE CRANKSHAFT END PLAY. IT SHOULD BE BETWEEN 0.0044" - 0.0153". if excessive crankshaft end play is causing this concern, it will be obviously out of specification by as much as.050" or more when a pry bar is used to move the crankshaft back and forth. IF THIS IS THE CASE AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT IS RECOMMENDED DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF DEBRIS IN THE ENGINE. IF NO EXCESSIVE CRANKSHAFT MOVEMENT NOTICED REPLACE THE CAM ACTUATOR. IT WILL ALSO BE NECESSARY TO DO AN OIL CHANGE.

the oil sending unit is in the rear of the motor center right as you face the motor. You almost have to climb up on the motor to see it because it is down on the block. If you remember where the distributor used to be in the rear. The sending unit is just to the right as you face the motor.Good luck.
