Try to get them not to work when parked and at this time tap the motor if it starts then the brushes in the motor are probably bad, the wiper motor needs replacing. if its still not working then run a ground wire to the motor and make sure you have a good connection at both ends of the ground wire, if it starts then it is a bad ground for the motor. you can permanately attach the ground wire and the wiper will work normally.

SOURCE: The passenger windshield wiper does not work

if you have only one wiper arm moving then your wiper linkage is broken   i get used wiper linkages from the auto recyclers   to remove the old one you have to remove the 2 wiper arms   raise them up and slide the little clip out to hold it upright   either pry or wiggle the arm off  then undo the screws for the grill under the wiper arms while the hood is raised undo the bolt on the wiper motor etc.  replace the part and put everything back together   you may have to try putting the wiper arms on a few times until it doesn't hit the edge of the windshield and retracts down properly   $40 (Canadian) for used parts if you do it yourself  $90 - $130 in new parts  maybe $140 - $200 in parts and labor to have someone else do it

SOURCE: Windshield wipers keep hitting each other. Driver

So why was the trans replaced the first time. The arm on the motor is supposed to go around. If the wiper arms are installed correctly, all should be OK. Is there any slop in the linkage?

My main windshield wipers stopped working. the rears still work and my turn signals too. basically just the front and fluid and about 4 months after they stopped i randomly hit the switch and they went on...

will try to help. the motor for the wipers may be bad. or it can also be a bad wiper motor switch, remember the tap every once in a while thing and they worked? well that says one or the others bad, with you tapping that switch on every once in awhile and they worked points towards the wiper motor itself. it's not very complicated to replace, but let me suggest that unless you are,ask your local mechanic to give an estimate for replacement of wiper motor.hope this helps and as always, thank you for choosing fixya.com if you would like to hear another solution, please repost and we'll be happy to help!

My heater/ac fan dont work then when going down the road hit a bump it comes on for about 5 minutes the goes out also if you turn the steering wheel to the right on a curvy road it will come on turn back...

This sounds like a loose connection to the motor itself. My truck has been doing that lately and I finally figured out the problem only when I starting digging under the dash while the heater was going.

When you turn left or right, the steering column must be tugging on the wiring, and when you hit a bump it's just enough to jar the connection loose. Check where the plug goes directly into the motor...most likely it's under the dash on the passenger side, or on the firewall on the same side, but in the engine compartment. It could also be that your steering column has worn the coating off of the wire and it is shorting out every once in awhile when the exposed wire hits metal.

1998 Jeep Wrangler Electrical Short in Steering Column?

I had a similar problem with my 2000 Jeep TJ and I found the problem in the wiring harness under the hood.several wires were corroded and almost burnt off.If you remove the black tape which keeps the harness bundled together and if you see evidence of "green" type powder or "gook" it's most likely where the wires have faulted.
