Someone tried something with the fuse he put a copper wire in to c if it was the fuse and do anything different. Before he did that it would start only for a couple seconds then stop. Now won't start at all?

It needs a new pruge valve. The purge valve is sticking open allowing fuel vapors into the intake manifold causing a rich hard start condition.
SOURCE: SAnta fe will not start
possibly 1 of the fuel injectors is malfunctioning causing a fuel lock, try getting them tested
SOURCE: Will not rev over 2000 rpm 2003 hyundai santa fe 2.4 eng
get someone to rev the car and see if the exhaust note sounds muffled!!! i.e blocked or bent if it sounds normal chech fuel pressure and more importantly fuel flow the guy with air flow meter was proberbly right

Start from scratch.
Does the battery have 12 volts across the terminals? If yes, then does the starter click when you turn the key? If no, replace the battery.
If the starter clicks when you turn the key, but the engine doesn't crank, replace the starter.
If no click, then check for power at the starter solenoid.
If there is power at the solenoid, but no click when you turn the key, check the starter relay. If none of this fixes your problem, you may want to have your mechanic check for broken or corroded wires

Initially I would agree fuel pressure had dropped off after shut down. This fuel filter is a sock screen attached to the fuel inlet tube of the fuel pump and is located inside the fuel tank with the fuel pump. This screen is rarely the cause. You'll need a fuel pump pressure gauge to verify the low fuel pressure at start up. Caution, sometimes this low pressure isn't a faulty pump, sometimes it's a poor wiring connection to the pump motor. An analog amp meter can verify if there is fluctuation/ing current flow to the fuel pump. A fluctuating current flow could mean poor connections, or could mean the pump has/is gone/going bad.
