The a/c compressor can not be bypassed on this engine. The compressor will either need to be replaced or removed and a special bypass pulley installed in its place. The pulleys if available can be purchased from you local auto parts store.

I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jeremy_d728a59f986299fa

Than the a/c compressor will need to be replaced. If your looking to save a little money a used compressor can be installed. You may run into issues with shops willing to install or charge the system with a used compressor.

SOURCE: replacing headlight bulbs on a 2006 chrysler sebring

Behind the headlight you should see a eletrical wires running to the headlight section. There will be a 2 inch round plastic ring. You grap the back of the bulb and turn it to the right which will release the bulb and the socket. You pull out the bulb and replace it the same way. If this doesnt help then get back to me.

SOURCE: 2007 chrysler sebring serpentine belt diagram

Go to; daycoproducts.com, click cars and trucks, then go to serpentine belt. Then on the right side of the screen click on finding your vehicle. Then get the illistration number and click on illistrations, go to that number it should something 6-? or 7-?. It's a pretty good websight.

Can you bypass ac compressor on 2002 chrysler sebring when replacing a belt

Some makes and models you can use an ac by-pass pulley in place of the compressor.

Is there a serpentine belt made for 2007 Chrysler Sebring 2.7 Engine without ac

The short answer is no. You may be able to measure the length of a belt that does not go around the ac compressor and buy that belt, but chances are you won't be able to route the belt to bypass the compressor and keep it tight.

Reroute serpentine belt

Sorry to say about the only way to skip the compressor is when that model came without air cond and I think they all did.
Sometimes you can buy a special pulley with bracket to bypass the compressor after you take it off.
Most of the time if you try to use a shorter belt something will be in the way of the routing, or the belt will drive a pulley the wrong direction.

2006 Chrysler sebring High Pitch Noise Screeching Sound

The belt is slipping or the compressor and/or clutch is bad.
If the compressor won't turn freely with the engine off, it may be locked up which will make the belt screech.

Can you bypass the a/c compressor with a different belt on a 97 chrysler sebring 2.5l

The bearings in the pulley have dried out and unfortunately there is no easy way to fix without replacing the pulley due to the type of belt used. Maybe you can find a good used pulley of a wrecked car? It doesn't have to be the exact same year/model as the pumps are generic and it's just a matter of matching size and belt type.

What size serpentine belt do i use to bypass the ac in a 2000 ford windstar

Hi Jenni,

If you have a bad or locked-up A/C compressor, you do not have to change the belt at all unless the clutch bearing is bad. Otherwise, the belt will simply ride on the clutch pulley without any problems. All you have to do is to disconnect the A/C clutch wire connector to keep the clutch from engaging and destroying your belt.

On the other hand, if the A/C clutch bearing is the reason you are wanting to "bypass" the A/C, it would be best to just replace the clutch bearing. The bearing is available by itself. This will work to solve your problem even if your compressor is locked-up (see above).

The SANTECH part number for your compressor clutch bearing is MT2024. You should be able to grab on to one of these for arond $15 US (lots cheaper than a belt)

I don't recommend messing with trying to find a different belt to try to "bypass) the A/C compressor, because you will be opening a whole can of worms that will be aggravating and EXPENSIVE to deal with. The method described above will ensure that your belt will fit correcly and will have the correct amount of tension to prevent slipping, squealing, or damage to other bearings or pullies.

Eliminating the a/c and shorten the belt

If its a 2.7L you can bypass the AC with no problem. Did it to mine 6 months ago. Left compressor in place. Little hard to find right belt because all sebrings have AC. Went to napa bought 5 took the other 4 wrong ones back. LOL
