On both my 90 and 92, I use and the recommended oil is a 20w50 multigrade oil. I have tried synthetics and they thin out and low pressure readings occur when running in hot weather. The normal range readings return with the regular multigrade oil.

Why is the engine light not only on, but flashing on my 2ltr petrol 2001 vw beetle, and the car is jolting even when idle (feels like it will stall), and it stinks like a firework???

Your light is flashing because it is telling you it needs attention right away. Get the codes pulled and fix the problem. Sounds like a emissions. Sensor problem or a blocked up catalytic converter.

Who replaced the transmission ? Take it back an tell them to fix it or you'll Sue them . Or take it to another shop . Without testing we would only be guessing .

Change the crank sensor the cam sensor and the pcm and the 2001 jeep grand cherokee still is having an issue staying started and the gauges going crazy as well as the windows not working

I cant explain the windows but the stalling can be the wiring harness at the under the hood . you did not mention engine size but i know on in line 6 the harness goes around the rear of valve cover if you move it around it will stall if bad.

Just got a 95 vette, what would cause the car to suddenly feel like its going to stall out as Im driving it. I was not stopped, just driving and the car started jolting and felt like it was going to stall...

The check engine light should have came on. If it did, then take the car to Autozone and have them run diagnostics on it. And see what codes pop up. This could be several different sensors that would cause this. But it should have thrown a code and Autozone can tell you what sensor it was.

Stalling And Engine Revving

Sounds like a transmission problem. My car was doing that and it turns out it had a transmission fluid leak that had led to major transmission damage. The bad news: the entire transmission had to be rebuilt.
