toyota ascent are fitted with different radios during the model production run

the glove box owner manual should have a card with a 3 or 4 digit number you enter into the radio
.if missing contact or take the ascent to a toyota service center and you get the correct code using the vin number

Check the fuses!

When you fit the new battery you will have to reset the radio, the code should be in your manual somewhere, that then should have it work for you. It's when you remove a battery you will lose all memory that your radio had if it's not connected in a short time, unless you use a radio minder whilst changing the battery, hope this helps

You will need to reset the wireless code to turn on the radio. Removing the battery indicates to the radio that it is being stolen and the code cuts in to make the radio worthless. The code may be in the owners hand book in the wireless section. If it is not and the radio is factory fit then the dealer will have a record of the code for the wireless fitted to that vehicle in the factory. Contact dealer customer support and get it from them

First thing get the code to the radio so that you can turn the radio back on . Turn everything off . Disconnect the earth lead off then the positive lead. Remove the battery hold down strap /clamp and lift battery out. Ensure that the replacement battery has the same poles in the same places or the leads may not fit correctly. Place the battery in position and fit the hold down clamp/strap. Fit positive lead after ensuring that the terminal is shiny clean inside. Fit earth lead after cleaning the terminal . Tighten clamps securely. Turn igniting on and wait a few minutes for the CPU to reprogram. Start engine and wait for the ECM to sort out any losses from the battery removal.. If there are lights tha stay on it may be necessary to have a code reader used to reset the CPU

When you turn on your CAR, the radio will say CODE... Enter your 4 digit number and your radio will start working.

If you do not have the Code, look in your Owners Manual for the Card.

If the Card is not there, slide the Radio out and get the Serial Number and call the BMW Dealership for the Code..

You might need to disconnect the power ONCE again to reset the radio. Once the processor is reset then the codes can be reentered. It is possible that wrong codes were entered and so the processor has hung.
In any doubt check the codes with your dealer's data base.

take your cable off and then connect your neg 1st and then your pos most people place pos 1st when disconnect just reverse it and it should work dont need a code it will reset itself
