1. Press and hold trip odometer reset button 2. Turn ignition key to run position KPII (not the start position)
3. Wait 30 seconds or until service light "!" begins blinking
4. Release Trip Odometer button
5. Turn ignition to off position
If that doesn't work try:
1. Press and hold trip odometer reset button
2. Turn ignition key to run position (not the start position)
3. Wait 30 seconds or until service light "!" begins blinking
4. Turn ignition to off position, the service light continues blinking
5. Release Trip Odometer button

should reset it for you

I have a 2004 pontiac grand am have fuel in the oil

You do regular maintenance on your vehicle, changing oil and filter? If so, check the vacuum line on the fuel pressure regulator, if there is gas in the line, the regulator is faulty. Also, could be fuel injector leaking?

After you fix the problem, change the engine oil and filter as many times as necessary to get rid of the smell.

Get yourself a Haynes or Chiltons manual

i feel this is one of the best ways to preview what needs to be done to your vehical before you work on it yourself or take it to a repair shop. reviewing scheduled maintenance and see what is needed and at what milage ( 30,60,90 thousand miles). even trouble some codes are listed and a few wire diagrams.
I cant stress enough about regular maintenance. the book says the minimun to be done. you can always do more or more often.
Warrenty will not cover breakdowns due to Neglect or Lack Of Maintenance.
( Yes, my daughter that applies to you )
I also recommend factory repair parts. using parts from carquest may be cheaper but you get what you pay for. (ie. radiator hoses, brake rotors) aftermarket parts are cheaper for a reason. they are not as good quality as the OEM parts.

How do i reset the computer on a 2002 gmc onvoy after i unhooked the battery and rehooked it back up the motor dont run right or idle.

The computer on your GMC vehicle generates and stores error codes. An error code does not always mean that something is wrong with your vehicle. Error codes are generated when regular maintenance is required. After you've fixed the broken component or done the required maintenance, you will need to know how to reset the computer and clear all of the error codes so that the check engine or warning light in your GMC vehicle will go out. GMC vehicles use an on-board diagnostic--or OBD-style--port that accepts a special tool called an OBD scan tool. Most auto parts stores have this tool and will perform this task for a nominal fee, and some will do it for free (ie. - Advance Auto, AutoZone, etc.). Hope this helps!

Will a posi trac work well with a 3.31gear ratio that was orginally not?

Posi trac can be removed. Gear ratio is different. What was yours??? You can put any gear ratio in it you want. Difference would be speedo numbers. To get rid of the positrac. Remove the two pins and related parts that the pins hold... IE positrac. On the backside of the differential

What does an yellow light showing an oil can with a wrench under the oil can mean

This means your vehicle is due for a regular maintenance visit to the dealership. Light is yellow as caution. The light comes on at maintenance intervals according to the mileage -- when the service has been performed the mechanic resets the light so it will be off until the next maintenance interval is reached.

Maintenance Required message on. Purchased

this light can come on even thought service is not actually due. if the service was performed and the light was not on at the time, sometimes you cannot reset them if they are not actually lit, or 99% of the time the technician forgets if the light was not on. stop by your shop and they can reset it for you in just a few moments, and for no charge. good luck!

I have about 180,000 miles on my 1989 Honda Civic DX. I have done regular maintenance. Last timing belt at 90,000. What should I be doing now? Do I follow regular maintenance suggestions for when the car...

Yes do the same inspection as 100k. I.E. Replace water pump. Load test alternator. Change all fluids, repack wheel bearings and fuel pump.

Find and repair the metal rings tinkling. it could be a safety problem. You will also need a complete safety inspection, to include body and frame.

Congratulations on making it to 180k. BUT you have a 300k car.

I drive a 1984 dodge charger with 160k on it.

Hope this tip helps.
