If you don't have access to a shop full of special tools like hoists, transmission jacks or can raise the car to a safe working height, then leave it to a pro. AWD's present a whole different set of problems if you're not an experienced mechanic.

SOURCE: 2004 xtype jaguar key fob suddenly stopped working

Your key fob needs reprogramming, and yes the alarm will go off when you open the door, but you have enough time to put the key in the ignition which will prevent the alarm sounding. Car is usable until you get the fob sorted by locking and unlocking using the key.

SOURCE: 2005 jaguar xtype how do i adjust headlights

If I am understanding your post, I believe you do have a levelling
system and it should be near your light switch on the dash. It is
the type of switch that you depress first, it then springs out and
you turn the small knob (just like your instrument panel lights
adjuster next to it.) What you do not have perhaps, if your car is
not fitted with HIDs (high intensity headlamps), is the automatic
levelling system which is a legal requirement when HIDs are fitted
due to the high power of the lights....

if you don't have a self-levelling system then you'll have a manual
system, operated by a knob under the light switch so that you can
adjust to compensate for a heavy load in the rear of the car.

SOURCE: How do you adjust/align headlights on a 2004

Before anything make sure you H1 bulb is seated correctly on mount (that the dimple on the bulb metal plate is in he hole of the mounting plate. When you remove the spring clamps for the bulb, turn the bulb slightly in both directions until you see it/feel it slide in and re-attach the spring clamps. Check if this resolved you adjustment. If it is still off, you will see a hole on top of the core support above the head lamp where inside you will see an allen head type plastic head with an optional Philips screw insert. That is one of your adjustment screws for vertical. There is one on each side. Behind the head lamp unit (between the low beam and high beam) you will also see a white plastic gear button. This is another adjustment screw for horizontal.

Re jaguar x series 2002 was the DSC optional? and do all have AWD?

i think from memory the 2litre xtype petrol and 2.0 diesel were launched about 2002 and were front wheel drive only. dynamic stability control was only on the 2.5 and 3.0 ltr which were awd cars

How do I remove the steering wheel on my 04 Jaguar Xtype awd? It's loose and I want to tighten it but can't get the airbag removed to get to the center but.

the airbag is held on by 2 plastic clips, they are shaped like a claw to release them you need a flat blade screwdriver to gently seperate the 2 parts of the claw. (there is a jaguar special tool for the job} insert the driver through the holes in the back of the steering wheel and twist 90 degrees. turn the wheel quarter turn to gain access.pull gently on the airbag at the same time, you need the driver to be the correct size its a bit of a pig to do, make sure you disconnect the battery first. the airbag electrical connectors are delicate so be careful, good luck

Do you know about clutch issues with jaguar 2004 xtype

the has / was clutch slippage and complete failure in some cars ,as far as i am aware that the clutch was entirely redesigned by Jaguar after 2005, a Very different from the one in 2004 car - much
lighter and smoother in feel. the is an amazing difference,
the upgraded part number C2S 33393,not a cheap part to replace but the results are very well received..

Jag xtype 2ltr diesel manual has rattle when clutch is depressed on when pedal travels to its extreme point ie floor. No judder or slipping just rattle is this OK

Sounds like release bearing or clutch fork pivot. Or could be clutch plate springs loose, but less likely. If it doesn't suddenly get worse, then it should be fine to drive. If you do get slipping, this needs immediate attention as you could score the flywheel.
