Your heater core could be plugged with dust if this problem came up slowly I would suspect that. Another thing that cold be wrong is a trap door is not opening these are operated by cables vacuum or stepper motors. Confirm that something happens when you move from cold to hot on the control.

SOURCE: 2003 jeep grand cherokee heater problem

Jeep Grand Cherokee is notorious for broken blend-air doors. This is the door inside the A/C-heater housing that switches the air from hot to cold. You must remove the dash to repair it.

Heater not blowing hot air

Yup, flush the coolant ayatemavoid using Barsaleak type leak treatments for leaks. They are notorious for clogging up.heater. cores.
a fresh air actuator door can also get stuck open allowing cold fresh air which in wintertime feels like no hot air at all. I think this door is actuated by vacuum hose.

Cold air works fine but my heater does not blow hot air just cold in a 1993 ford ranger

check the cooling system to make sure the system is full.next check the temperature of the heater hoses when the car is at operating temperature.they should be the same temp,if one is not as hot as the other then the heater core is plugged and will need to be replaced.you can try to run clr through the heater core to see if it will unplug the heater.the other thing is the temp door will have to be checked to make sure its moving through out its full travel by moving the temp knob/lever and looking at the door arm to see it travel full range.this is located under the dash on the passenger side on the duct work.

It is much more likely you are low on coolant or you have an air bubble trapped in the cooling system. You should bleed the cooling system to get any trapped air out and make sure it is full of coolant.

Temperature gauge fluctuates

First of all you have a bad heater core that needs to be replaced. Second you may have a bad temperature sensor. Make sure the radiator if full of water

Temperature gauge fluctuates and the heater blows cold air

Definitely check your fluid level in your radiator. Top it off all the way. I've seen that happen multiple times on cars that were low on anti-freeze. If that doesn't work try replacing your thermostat. It's cheap and the easiest place to start if topping off the fluid doesn't get you fixed up.

Fluctuating engine temp a/c sends out cold air intermittently

Here's the thing. The ECU will shut down AC if the engine temperature is too hot. If the coolant temperature sensor is malfunctioning (lying to the ECU) telling it that the temperature is hotter than it actually is, the computer will turn the AC OFF.

Heater in car doesn't bow hot air but the air condintioning works

Does the car run cold or is the temp. correct. Check the thermostat first. check that the radiator and res. is full. Check the hoses to and from the heater core. If one is hot and one is cold then either the shut-off valve to the heater core is defective or the heater core is plugged.
