How do I Remove the heater hose from the rear of the engine on a 1998 Ford Expediton?

I have large hands and havening a problem getting the rear heater hose from the rear of the engine. Is there a clamp holding it in place or what? The hose is dry rotted and leaking water into spark plug recesses causing the engine to miss fire I think. It ran smooth until I noticed water squirting directly into the recesses of the spark plug. Being the plugs are recessed, they were filling with water and possibly shorting out several of the plugs. Any Help please. My only means of transportation.

Sounds like you are talking about the hose that goes to the heater. It has a snap spring clamp on it. You will be able to handle it better if you buy a new hose and cut the old one off. A small curved needle nose plier or straight plier may help. Then put the old clamps onto the hose higher up and slide them in place once the hose is mounted. Do the hard to reach end first(using the hose length to grip onto) and clamp it, then attach the last end.

SOURCE: leaking antifreeze and it's not a pipe or the water pump

Freeze plugs are usually on the side of engine block. If the freeze plugs leaking, it is a simple job to replace them without removing the engine. You should get under the truck to locate the source of leaking antifreeze.

Sounds like valve cover gasket is leaking. It leaks down side of engine onto everything in it's path. Stop by a local parts store and have them take a peak, they'll be glad to help you out.

Where is ignition control module located on 1998 ford Taurus se

The ICM is located at the rear of the Throttle control body. Look for where your plastic hose from your air breather connects to the engine at. Remove the plastic hose at the engine and at the rear of the round metal part the you removed the hose from, closest to the firewall or the back side will be the ICM

This is usually because of a bad fan resistor control. Track the wires under the hood from the blower fan to a part stuck in the underhood ductwork shell. This part can sometimes be reactivated by tapping on it with a broom handle. Just look for a part with 2 bolts and 1 plug-in harness.

If you are not successful in reactivating your part, you will have to replace it. One thing good about checking this is that you can remove the wires from the old part and plug in the new part before making any other changes. If it now works, proceed to installing the new part.

Sometimes a water hose is in the way at the rear of the engine. Do it this way. Cold engine. Remove attaching bolts and wires. Have new part in reach for 1 handed swap. Loosen heater water hose clamp and prepare to remove end of hose. Pull hose off engine, pinch and hold hose with 1 hand, change resistor with other hand and leave new part loose in ductwork. Replace hose to engine.

Because you did this on a cold engine, a vacuum lock should keep the water from rushing out of the heater hose that you pinched and held.

Coolant line under intake is leaking 95 town car

95 Lincoln town car coolant leak under intake SOLUTION EASY

Ok this is a 4" piece of hose leaking on a tube that runs under the intake manifold and fastens to the rear of the engine with 2 small bolts that are very hard to get to. The heater core hooks up to this tube with a 5/8 hose that's 3/4 on the other end going into the heatrer core.
Solution:
remove alternator
see clamp on hose?
remove it.
If you can't remove it, clamp vice grips on it and take a steak knife and cut through the hose towards the rear of the engine. Now with large screw driver pry the hose and clamp off the nub on the rear of the water pump housing. You may have to move the tube and remaining hose out of the way first. Just stick your hands in there and force it out of the way. Now you have a clean nub to hook a 5/8 bypass hose to. Here's where you get it. Go back to the heater core and and remove the hose that connects to this tube that runs under the intake. Just cut it where it hooks to the tube and remove it carefully from the heater core because this is now your needed bypass hose. Now with a couple feet of 3/4 hose and a coupler you have all you need to reroute this water outlet around the engine to the heater core. Take your hose you cut from the other end of the tube and removed from the heater core and and fasten it to the nub on water pump housing use new screw type stainless Steel clamps. You have to take this one apart to put it on. Stick a 3/4 coupler into the other end and route a long section of 3/4 hose under alternator to the heater core using SS clamps where needed. job done... Just leave the old tube where it is under the intake manifold......Thank you Very Much

follow the two rubber hoses from the firewall to where they connect to the motor. disconnect them and flush through both of them. whichever one you start with first dont point the empty hose at you becuz the water will be coming out of it.

follow the large hose from the top of the radiator to where it claps to the engine. unclamp it, remove the nipple it was clamped to and there will be the thermostat
