My Toyota Echo Brake Pedal freezes when trying to stop. It has done this few times. While trying to stop the brakes froze, and I had to hit them very hard...almost like kicking..what should I do?

get it inspected, You may just have one sticking caliper that need replacement. the brake pads will be pretty worn on that wheel so you may needs pads also.

Brake job

A brake job is something that is done properly and I've seen so many bad brake jobs in my time. I know it is rather expensive to get a brake job done but to do it yourself one has to be very carefull that it is done right. New rotors are about 30 dollars each and then there are the seals and rotors that have to be serviced properly. Needlessly to do the whole brake job would be quite a job for you if you haven't done it before.
