Its leaking oil from underneath and its burning through qts of oil, was wondering if there were any recalls on the motor for leakage

yes oil consumption is known between oil changes so keep an eye on checking it once a month, cuz a healthy and happy motor uses some oil! dont worry its normal in every vehicle.

i think the first thing to check would be the coolant for a bad headgasket see if its milky or just have oil in it in general

Not a solution, sorry. But I run a Goodyear store in San Antonio Texas. Liberty's are problomatic. We have an 02 that doesnt leak oil, do seem to be smoking out of the tailpipe, hot or cold run. Initial morning start , no plumes of smoke. Yet the car magicaly consumes three courts of oil every 1 1/2 weeks. I know the solution is out there.
