Question about 2003 Nissan Altima

Engine warning light on Nissan Almera 03

My Nissan Almera (2003) was a bit jerky when I first start the engine in the last couple of days and didn't think much to it.
Yesterday, I was overtaking and then all the sudden the engine stopped, and there was no power for few mintues, Couldn't even switch the indicators on.
This morning when I started the car, the engine warning light came on and after few mintues of driving the engine stopped and there was no power for a
couple of mintues again.
Does anybody know what's wrong? and how much it'd cost to fix. It's the last thing I need as I'm struggling financially.
Thank you.

I have a 2003 Nissan Al,era Tino se, 1.8 which has had the same trouble for the past six months, No mechanics have been able to tell me what the problem is as yet, we have replaced spark plugs and Mass Airflow Sensor, having been told that these were the most likely faults but unfortunately this has not remidied the intermittent loss of power fault. I would also be very grateful for any help as to how to rectify this as i do quite a few miles every week with my children in the car and it is dangerous at times, depending on when the engine decides to lose power! Thank you.

Its very simple. You can see a black hose from the engine which connects the metal pipe. just remove it and you can see three gold color pin from the metal pipe. scratch that pins using a salt paper and fix it. Now check whether you get started or not. Thanks.

My Almera SVE (53) just started having similar problem. Had a look under the bonnet and all pipes are black in colour. Would be useful if it can be more specific on which metal pipe.

Have the codes read anyway. Turn the key on, do you see a check engine light? We work on auction cars also. To many times I see that the light is not on.

What did you use to clean the MAF?
You may have damaged the sensor.
I would suggest a used MAF assembly be installed and use only approved cleaners next time and be gentle when cleaning electronics.

Have replaced the battery on a nissan almera tino and now it won't start. It turns over OK but will not fire.

I changed the battery as it was struggling to start over a few days and then died completely after being left over a weekend. After the replacement all electrics worked but the engine wouldn't turn over, it just clicked. There was no immobiliser warning or messages on the screen. I tried a few of the things on this forum but it turned out to be a broken battery earth cable where it attaches to the gearbox under the car. I removed the cable (easier with the battery tray removed) then had a new lug attached to the end. Total cost 1.50. phew!

2005 nissan almera,1.5letre.. fault code po725

P0725 NISSAN - Engine Speed Signal

The P0725 Codes is triggered when TCM does not receive the engine speed signal from ECM.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the engine speed through the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor with the engine running, and send signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM).

- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

Possible causes:
- Open or shorted CKP sensor circuit condition
- Poor CKP sensor electrical connection
- Check communication error between the ECM and TCM
- Failed CKP Sensor

Possible solution:
Very common problem with Nissan vehicles, usually replacing the Crankshaft Position sensor takes care of the problem.
