SOURCE: 95 jimmy 4x4 drive acting weird.

Eh! I gotta google too. :) The Ecu computer controls so much on these vehicles these days that the dealers aren't equiped tofix their own makes.. It is possible like the other post sai, that there is some form of bsd connection. I figure the computer controls the information highway and keeps the operator informed on the happenings. If I can suggest looking at the transfer case for any electrical that could be talking to the computer Or possibly a sensor that is poorly connected. Is there a particular time or condition like rough roads/off roading or any thing else you can narrow it down to? If you live local to riverside or Mira loma, I would be more than happy to have you drop over and work together on this. I'm retired and home 24/7 and need something to do. Won't cost, a mechanic at a shop would so just let me know. I have a few ideas we can then discuss. It would take a ck list to cover it on here. My name is Ned @909-630-3192. Nothing to lose. good luck and feel free to call.

SOURCE: the dome light, lights by

well one of those switches has gone south on you, keeping all bulbs on. I would suspect first the driver's door as it gets the most use and then the hood and trunk switches as they seem to go bad most often. Generally all the switch does is put a ground on so you can find the switches and disconnect the wire coming from it. just a little push button sticking out and closing of the door pushes it in. Generally they just snap in.

If you cannot find the switch then find your fuse panel, clue to location is owners manual. There will be a legend for what fuse does inside the panel cover and you pull the fuse which has the interior lights on it. you may lose something else too but you can live with that until you find someone who can find and disconnect all the door light push buttons.

My 95 Ford Windstar has just developed a rather distressing problem. In the morning, I get in my van and everything is fine. A few hours later, when I get in my van and start it, there is a warning bell...

one of the door ajar switches are sticking. needs to be put on the computer to find out which one. only other way is to go around and unplug the switches until your light shuts off.

96 Jimmy Check the SMT surface mount technology, referring to circuit boards.
WOW, listen under the steer wheel is a panel
drop it down on the panels left side as it comes down is a small black plastic box left of the diagnosis jack with I don't know 5 or 6 wires going to it, wires come from the left hand corner above the emer brake pedal. Plugged in lights on ,,out lights off. Then have the unit tested. or replace. If there was ever a power surge the caps could have blown.

Dome and inside lightsdon't turn off and run down battery we have checked alll pins

Your interior light switch (adjusts the brightness of the dash lights) is probably all the way "on". I have done this a few times by accident.

No head lights, interior lights or fuel pump.turns over but no sta

Likely you have repaired this already but: check battery condition and clean both terminals (not on outside, remove them & clean contact points)
A bad alternator etc would leave you with some power somewhere!!

2000 GMC Jimmy won't start

Hi: Have run into same type of problem, turned out to be a dead or very battery. Has nothing to do with the ignitin switch. With a low battery have also had trouble getting the key out of a 95 Jimmy. Boost unit to get running then discommect battery, if unit stall right away replace alternator, if stays running replace battery. If you get the unit runnimg and try to drive it as is you should find lacks power and wants to stall.
