How to fix stuck fuel gauge on 2008 pontiac torrent?

Two places it cold be. Most likely is under the vehicle, on the drivers side, behind the drivers door. Next could be behind the gas tank, in the center of it.

You can replace and or fix it. Before you proceed make sure that there is no open or short circuit in the fuel gauge system.

If the signal from the sending unit is correct, the problem would be in the gauge on the dash.

I think you are mistaken, only one in the tank. If you want to make sure, you can trace your fuel line from tank to engine, but im 98% sure you will find none. If you ever see a 2008 torrent with a filter in any other location, it was added on by the owner or mechanic.

The fuel filter is part of the primary fuel pump assembly, located inside of the fuel tank. It is not replaceable separately from the fuel pump. It does not have a service interval and cannot be separated from the pump.

The filter is located in the fuel tank.

There is a TSB on high sulfur fuel usage, and how it impacts the fuel level resistance.

ISSUE:
Some 2004-2008 F-150 and 2006-2008 Mark LT vehicles, built before 12/3/2007, may exhibit erratic fuel gauge operation or illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0460 or P0463, and/or Instrument Cluster Module DTC B1201. This may be caused by sulfur contamination in the fuel causing an open or high resistance in the fuel level sender.

ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

Replace fuel float sensor inside the gas tank.

When gauge is pegged at full, usually means a bad ground. Check wires at fuel tank, wiggle around, maybe one came off. The bad news is it is hard to get to without removing the tank. Sometimes you can reach arm in and get to them. Also check body ground at read of van.

replace fuel pump/Fuel gage sending unit (All in one) also wire pigtail to asmbly Pontiac Montana's are prone to wire falures and shorts $300+ if done in drive way alot more if you have a shop do it!
P.S. REPLACE ASMBLY WITH AS LITTLE FUEL IN TANK AS YOU CAN...!
