Here is the procedure for your job. Make sure when you lift the car it is supported safely.
Have a large area oil drain pan handy. It will take up to 5 or so quarts to refill. remember not to overfill, it's easier too add a little at a time than to take it out afterwards. Also remember that the fluid expands when it's hot so only go to the cold fill line when adding if it has one.
I generally just loosen the last bolt a little bit and let it drain slowly to avoid a mess.

Removal Procedure
Remove the oil pan (24) and gasket (25). Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.

1. Remove the filter (100). Remove the lip ring seal (101) pressed into the case only if replacement is necessary.
2. Inspect the screen for the following foreign material:

• Inspect for metal particles.
• Inspect for clutch facing material.
• Inspect for rubber particles.
• Inspect for engine coolant.

1. Determine the source of the contamination if foreign material is evident.
2. Correct the source of the contamination.
3. Use solvent to clean the screen.
4. Blow-dry the screen.

1. Install the filter (100), a new filter if required.
2. install the gasket (25) and oil pan (24).
