SOURCE: Where is the camshaft sensor located on my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee

If you still have a cap rotor and ignition wires, it's inside the distributor. If not, it is the part where the distributor used to be (center rear of the engine behind the intake manifold)

REMOVAL - 4.7L
The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on the 4.7L V–8 engine is bolted to the front/top of the right cylinder head (CMP Location—4.7L Engine).

It is easier to remove/install sensor from under vehicle.

Raise and support vehicle.
Disconnect electrical connector at CMP sensor (CMP Location—4.7L Engine).
Remove sensor mounting bolt (CMP Location—4.7L Engine).
Carefully twist sensor from cylinder head.
Check condition of sensor o-ring.
See picture for sensor location.

Grand cherokee o2 sensor straight 6

Sounds like an aftermarket O2 sensor was replaced. Should not be the problem unless your check engine light is on and giving that code. Also have you looked into your erg valve?

What are codes 12 and 21 for 95 jeep grand cherokee 4wd

Check this:
Code 12 - Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles.

Code 21 - Neither rich nor lean condition detected from the oxygen sensor input or O2 (Oxygen) sensor input voltage maintained above the normal operating range.

Code 55 - End test.

Just need to check or replace the O2 sensor, is the only fail that your computer found there. Is need other details, dont dude in contact us.

Good luck.

Error code P 0161 for 2000 Grand Cherokee Limited V8

Its related to the oxygen sensor and/or oxygen sensor heater. There are 4 sensors the Jeep is equipped with.

In most cases one of the recommended solution for all those faults is a sensor replacement, however before doing that and spending a lot of money. Go to auto zone and have them tell you what O2 sensor is bad buy it and replace it. Go back to them to have the code cleared. O2 sensors run 20-50bucks. Good Luck
