It depends on the spark plugs that have been used. Some are pre gapped, some have three preset side electrodes around the edge. Gapping spark plugs is not as critical as the old days due to modern CDI ignition systems which give a much larger spark and huge improvements in spark plug technology.
Spark plug gap, .051 or
1.3--1.4mm
That is for motorcraft spark plug, AGSF-32WM or equivalent.
Different spark plug manufacturers may have different gap specs.

original spark plugs ( MOTORCRAFT AGPS22PP1 1.0mm gap
you can use ( CHAMPION RC8PCY 0.8mm gap
or ( NGK PFR6B-II 1.1mm gap
Note that the specs given are for euro ford 2.3 engine code E5FA
IF YOU HAVE THE EI IGNITION SYSTEM.YOUR SPARK PLUGS IS UNDER EACH INDIVIDUAL COIL.DISCONNECT COIL ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR.THEN REMOVE COIL RETAINING BOLT.THEN REMOVE OFF SPARK PLUG.THEN REPLACE SPARK PLUG.YOU HAVE 8 COILS TO REMOVE BEFORE REPLACING SPARK PLUGS.
The spark plug gap is usually on a sticker under the hood or in the owners manual. It is usually in the range of 0.045 to 0.060. Don't believe the guy at the parts store when he says the plugs are pre-gapped.
