My daughter was driving my van and the radio went off and on and the air conditioner went off...for some time the guages have been flickering erratically...today when she stopped at the post office after the radio and ac problems it wouldnt start..she had a friend jump it off and it started...I bought a new battery a couple of months ago. What could be the problem as I feel they are connected somehow?
SOURCE: Air Conditioner
Sound unrelated. to many things to check for the AC problem, gas leak, compressor, condenser, evaporator, TX valve, HP-LP switch, belt, clutch, drier.plumbing, get my drift...
SOURCE: leaking antifreeze on the right side new water pump and hose to on over a month ago
you changed the water water pump because it probably overheated. you might have a broken head gasket and combustion pressure is entering the cooling system
SOURCE: The abs light came on and air conditioner started
It sounds like the engine is running on battery power only. The engine of today`s technology needs the alternator to have enough ignition to run on,lights and computer, etc, will be affected by low voltage, and amps. The alternator is not charging, look for a charging fuse to see if it is blown. If the fuse is fine, replace the alternator, and have the battery recharged on a slow 2 amp charge so it will recover it`s loss of deep cycle amps. This will prolong battery life and alternator. If I can help let me know.Let me know the out come.

Check the battery voltage, should be more than 12.6 volts with engine off, and at least 14volts with running engine. If is less than 12.6 V then you have to replace the battery. A voltage less then 14V with running engine, indicates problems in charging system, and you might need a new alternator. If you have good battery and alternator, then you have to scan the codes, and turn the security light off. Sometimes disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes clears the code. Hope this might help.
