There are many causes for this symptom.
Main suspects include:
worn out transmission
old fluid needs changed
valve body is dirty or clogged transmission filter
worn transmission or engine mounts
wrong transmission fluid added at top-up
shift solenoid broken
My first response would be to get a tune-up. Your carburetor can be adjusted to compensate for fuel mixture issues. I'd suggest you get a Chilton's or Hayne's manual for your exact model. All the details you should need are in either of those manuals, including diagrams and "how-tos". Good luck.
