Yeap sure would but why will it snap, chains last along time I only replace a chain if it gets a bit stretched and starts to rattle and then I usually rebuild the motor, rings, bearings, valve grind, water pump and any thing else while its a part and looks like it needs a birthday, but if you just want to keep it going and compressions good and oil pressures good I have just done the chain to quiet it done and done thousands of miles with no problems every engines got its own problems to figure out. cya Neil

They're charging you for it? Since your car's only 2 years old, they should be covering it under warranty. Timing Chains don't break normally, and when they do, usually it's on a much older car. Mazda should be covering the costs for this under the power train warranty (which is good for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first)

Mazda 3.0L V6 MPI have timing belt or chain

Well as of 2005 or so the v6 tribute has a Ford motor that has a timing chain not a belt the 4 cylinder has a Mazda motor that has a belt and should be changed every 90000 miles. So those swing the v 6 has a belt are totally wrong here

Mazda 2005 MX5 timing belt issues- does it have a timing belt or a timing chain?

I've looked on several parts sites and no one list MX 5 as a Model for the vehicle. The closest they get is the Miata. If you have the L4 Motor, which is listed on the Miata it has a Timing belt.

It has timing chain. You can found it by opening the oil fill cap.

If timing belt goes out in 93 escort willit harm motor

yes, it will hurt the engine. if the engine is running when the belt breaks, you can have the top of the pistons hit the intake and exhaust valves..... very bad. replace the belt before this happens
