You may have an issue with the Passlock Security system. If the key security code is not read when the key is inserted, the Passlock system de-activates the fuel pump. Many GM vehicles are on a recall list at this time due to such problems. The earlier models started about 2001 and goes to about 2009. Other possible problems could be ...No fuel in the tank, a bad fuel pump, or even a bad ignition module. Check the things you can check, and for the others you will need a mechanic. Best Wishes

2002 pontiac grand am not starting

My brother's 02 grand am 2.2L would not start. Car has spark, fuel pump works,
good battery, plugs and plug boots new, new fuse for the fuel pump in the fuse block under the hood, everything seems to work but car won't start, crank sensor fine timing chain fine etc... The problem was a security issue. Security light on dash was blinking when trying to start the car but car won't start. The fix for me was Attempt to start the car by turning the key to the Start/Run Position.
Observe that the vehicle fails to start and that the security light is blinking.
Release key to the 'ON/Accessory' Position. (DO NOT turn key to the 'off' position.)
Allow the vehicle to sit with the key in the 'ON/Accessory' Position for no less than 12 minutes.
Turn key to off position and allow the vehicle to remain in the 'OFF' position for no less than 30 seconds. Then try to start the car. I was surprised this worked for me. 2002 pontiac grand am 2.2L. Hope this helps for you folks.

Pontiac grand am se 2002 won't turn over and

my pontiac did the same thing and all i had to do was replace the 40amp fuse. you can have someone turning the key while you hit the starter from underneath, if it starts then you need a new starter, if it dont then no, its something else. mine did the exact same thing and it was the 40amp fuse under the hod.

2002 Grand Prix: I just had my oil changed in my Pontiac 2008 Grand...

To reset "CHANGE OIL" light, turn the ignition switch to the run position without starting the engine. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. and wait for the light to flash. Check your manual it maybe slightly different. Real easy fix.
